I’m with Mersey too

He has to go at the end of the season. We have had great performances against City and Chelsea when we were forced into defending reaolutely and playing counterattacking football, which we are still best suited to. The moment the onus is on us and it’s back to the usual performances.

I know we struggle to break resolute teams down, but that doesn’t explain the Palace, Fulham, West Ham and Everton results. We just weren’t attacking them or creating any real chances - got away with one against West Ham if I’m honest

I think he should go at the end of the season. We need some stability right now after the recent events - but unless he changes something dramatically then I just can’t see us progressing under him.

in other news Spurs and Everton also lost today it does happen in football

I don’t think either of them have lost at home to Cardiff to be fair......that’s terrible. What’s the point in working so hard to beat the best when you lose to one of the worst!

That's how football works otherwise no one would ever go and you would win the pools every week get some perspective.

You’re saying that losing at home to a relegation side is all part and parcel of everyday football for a club aiming for Europe?

If we finish 7th then all will be forgiven, but unless something changes I can’t really see that happening

Yes just ask Man utd you don't win football matches on paper or because you had the right Cardiff where fighting for their lives using all the gamesmanship faining injury throwing the ball away diving.

Man Utd have just sacked their manager for under performing so that’s probably not a great example to use Nev. If the owners look at United as an example then Puel could well be on his way sooner than we think. Apparently it’s been close to happening twice already

I haven’t been Puel IN once this season I thought he was great at first but he lost me towards the back end of last season.

I thought yesterday gave a bit of encouragement, slightly more positivity going forward despite the loss, so I'm hopeful we can move forward under Claude.

Speaking to someone else yesterday before the match who I haven't seen for a while, he was decidedly in the Puel out camp - almost apologetically so given the results against Chelsea and Man City. He also claimed that there had been a board meeting following the Cup exit against Man City where the managerial position was discussed - even to the extent of having a replacement identified; of course this is just a rumour and one wonders how much truth there could be in it, or how anybody would even find out about such matters.
