What is it about this forum? Just because you choose to spend all day using the forum doesn’t mean some of us don’t have better things to be doing.

And why would I run away when you’ve proven you’ve got no idea what you’re talking about?

You quoted the laws, yes - and you’ve decided to mention ‘impeding’. What you’ve failed to do is understand how that law is interpreted and what referees are looking for with regards to the offence. You’re so ignorant that you think because you understand what the word means in a dictionary, you know how to apply it in a game of football.

The laws are clear, but it still requires interpretation and opinion to decide whether that offence has actually taken place. Which is why it’s important to understand what the law is referring to - which you clearly don’t.

Here’s a clip from the relevant guidance for impeding:

Impeding an opponent

"The offence of impeding an opponent requires that the ball not be within playing distance and that physical contact between the player and the opponent is normally absent. If physical contact occurs, the referee should, depending on the circumstances, consider instead the possibility that a charging infringement has been committed or that the opponent has been fairly charged off the ball."

The Salah incident has nothing to do with impeding. It clearly doesn’t apply. The defender did not impede Salah, as per the definition of impede within the laws of the game.

You might think he impeded him with his challenge as per your definition, but that’s about as relevant as what you had for dinner yesterday.

Can you admit you’re wrong to mention it?

We can move onto the rest of it (holding etc) but if you can’t show some humility and admit you’re wrong on this point then what’s the point?

You already moved the goalposts when you tried to claim that it’s in the rules that you’re not permitted to pull an opponent (it’s not) and when it was highlighted you quickly changed to ‘holding’.

I gave you the chance to be decent about this and accept that you may not fully understand the laws fully, but you decided to be bullish about it. It’ll be a lot less painful for you if you just admit you made a mistake and we can all behave like adults.
