All for trying new places and different countries and have been to many, but like in the UK there are lots of great places to visit in the more accessible countries.

My personal favourite is Scandinavia. Been many times to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland although haven't seen much of Finland outside Helsinki. Beautiful countries and feels like a home from home now. Going away this weekend to a place with hot tub and sauna which might be influenced by the Scandinavian in me

I spent 6 years working in Norway. Stavanger, Stord, Haugesund, Kristiansand, Verdal, Fredrikstad and Oslo.
Never went anywhere I didn't like. Wonderful country.

I've been to most of Europe, but never been to Germany or France; even though they are the easiest to get to.

Just never really been that bothered by them and prefer finding new places or going places you hear less about. I must be a travel hipster.

I have a stag do in Benidorm in April. Really looking forward to that. Although I hear Sticky Vicky has retired.

When we get a chance to travel we all like to go further afield. Scotland gets bypassed big time despite being as beautiful a place as you could ever see.

I guess i must be a travel hipster as well then as we are currently looking into Nauru, Vanuatu, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Solomons and Marshall Islands next year, half of those are the least visited countries on the planet

I hear Sentinel Island is really good if you're ever in that sort of area.

You could go and try to convert them to the Church of Wolverhampton Wanderers through the preaching's of Nuno Espirito Santo.

A pilgrimage to São Tomé could be decent. Maybe stop at Barnsley on the way down.

A good buddy of mine went to sao tome about a month ago and said it was in his top three most beautiful places he had visited.

To put that in perspective he just ticked off country number 139 with Oman on New year's day, so high praise indeed.

From the pictures I've seen it does look stunning, imagine the culture shock going to Wolverhampton.

I'd be interested to know your friends impression of Oman as landing in Muscat when I transferred to/from Thailand honestly you would have had to pay me to enter the place rather than £60 for a Visa from my pocket.

He enjoyed it but he is used to the middle eastern culture having traveled the region a fair bit. He is based out of Ghana these days so most places are an improvement His pictures on FB look good.

I assume your visits to Norway were when you worked on the rigs, Gem.

When I was a whipper snapper in the Merchant Navy, I went to a place called Risor and lost my virginity to a Scottish lassie, after a night of drinking with my crew mates.
