Going forward Kolasinac is really good, he has an excellent cross and his interplay down the wing is quite superb, he also has a very powerful shot.
The problem though is that as a defender he is DREADFUL.
Even as a wing back he is suspect defensively, but as a left back he is just hopeless, he doesn't sense danger, his positional sense is woeful, he doesn't track back well and he doesn't seem to have the engine when he is caught out of position to get back either - he isn't even good in the air!
You only have to look at the Fulham goal to see his weaknesses and it happens time and time again - defensively he's actually worse at tracking back and sensing danger than Xhaka!
In my opinion he should not be playing left back in a back four again, I see no sign of defensive improvement since he joined and Emery has a lot of work to do on coaching him - still, with his ability in the final third it would be worth the trouble if he could manage it.

His touch isn't good enough to be a winger.
His defensive awareness is awful. If only he could somehow improve that. Absolute beasts though, one of the strongest players in the league no doubt.

Yeah he needs to improve his touch/creative side of game to play more forward, and his defensive attributes to be a good defender. If he could improve one of them he’d be a very useful player. As he is he’s still quite effective, but more so when going forward. When he gets running he’s very hard to stop, and his link up play on left side of box is pretty good. If we had a proper LB who could defend (and keep fit)Kolasinac would probably be a good impact player

I'd have thought a 352 (or it's varient such as 3412) would best suit you guys if all were fit. Play with wing backs and have your best two players supported by a number 10.
