Ozils Agent: Ozil not leaving Arsenal

Mesut Ozil's agent says the German playmaker wants to stay at Arsenal until at least the end of his contract in 2021 and possibly beyond.

Ozil has been linked with a possible move away from the Emirates, having been left out of the starting line-up on occasion this season by Arsenal head coach Unai Emery.

But he has a contract which runs until 2021, which he signed last year, and agent Dr. Erkut Sogut says he is going nowhere.

He told Goal: "I would prefer not to speak publicly about Mesut's situation but, given the recent speculation linking him with a move away from Arsenal, I do feel it is important to provide some clarity, so we can end this and focus on football.

"Mesut signed a new contract last January, because he saw his future at Arsenal, and nothing has changed in his mind.

"He wants to stay for the duration of that contract and maybe even longer.

"Mesut is 100 per cent committed to Arsenal Football Club.

"He loves the club, shares its values and does not want to be anywhere else.

"He is proud to wear the shirt and honoured to represent Arsenal on and off the pitch.

"He takes his responsibilities - including being selected as one of the captains this season - very seriously and has a great relationship with his team-mates, the staff and fans."

Ozil is currently on the sidelines with a knee injury and sat out the defeat at Liverpool and the victory over Fulham.

In other words no other club wants him or no other club as good as or better than Arsenal want him so will stay there. Or more likely no other club is stupid enough to pay Ozil 350k a week.

2.5 years on £350k a week. I suppose there are worse ways to "earn" the best part of £50 million.

Strange how things change for players, a while back when he signed his contract a lot of arsenal fans were apparently happy that they had kept their best player

As the OP says, no club is likely to offer him £350k a week, he is not doing anything that is nearly good enough on the pitch to tempt anybody with a brain to pay that.
I’m not sure what is going to happen because Emery’s body language when he said he “didn’t know” when Özil would be fit was bordering on contempt...

He was playing the best he has ever done before he signed the new contract and then became the same old Ozil after signing it.

Mhiki has been quite bad as well. If it weren't for Sanchez's wages and the 3 assists he had against Everton last season, he'd have not gone under the media's radar. That and Ozil's form and situation there.

Just think for a second.

Why would his agent 'need' to inform people whether Ozil was leaving or not? Could it possibly be because there is substance to the rumours that he is indeed leaving?

it's just PR to make him look better, like his statement when he quit Germany. Ozil is still a valuable brand because of his deluded instagram followers. He's gonna go a Winston Bogarde on us we'd be better off paying him £10m to leave than 40m+ for the rest of his contract.

Regardless of the money - Mesut Ozil will contribute between now and the end of his time with us.

Yeah, once every 5 games if we're lucky.

His attitude stinks, he has to go. Anytime he's on the field it's like playing with 10 men defensively. He's lazy and thinks he's better than everyone else so doesn't have to work as hard, he's a terrible example to the younger players, how many times does he lose possession than not bother to chase back?

Read a bit of his book where he couldnt understand why Mourinho was annoyed with him cause he was playing well. I think the general reason was that he wasnt tracking back or was too scared to tackle.

It is mentioned a couple of times by several people his inability to track back and it seems he hasnt got the message
