New Year, New Me

What a load of pash that is eh? How does a change in a man-made construct like a calendar make any difference to you whatsoever?

Anyway, happy new year to you all. I hope Santa was good to you all and you all got your hole at some point over the festive period. I'm at least half a stone heavier than I was in January and the January detox has now begun. I expect to be extra-miserable by the end of the month, not helped by the football of course.

Sadly United are still pash and we got beat from Alloa. FFS. Then the manager publically slated them and said he was looking to ship lots of them out, which is terrific news for everyone.

As you'll probably be aware, before Christmas United were bought over by an American chap so we're expecting plenty of investment. It'll be interesting to see who we bring in and what positions the manager is targeting. I'm expecting a defensive midfielder, at least one striker and hopefully a full back and wide midfielder. We need quality and, most importantly, winners.

I see you have now big Tony as DOF

Great guy
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I know nothing about him so happy to hear any stories about him Duke?

Would have preferred a football man like Levein as DoF but happy to give Ashgar a chance in the role. I think he was previously an agent so obviously has some insight into the workings of the game, and apparently he brokered the deal that put Ogram in control of the club. He's also a former polisman I believe

United are apparently looking at Daniel Armstrong from Raith Rovers (former Wolves winger) and we're apparently going to be lucky enough to ship out Craig Curran to Dundee.

Yes worked as an agent with Kenny Moyes (brother of Davie)
Now runs Revolution sports.

He is Mr fix it with contacts everywhere.

He knows his stuff and was a quite exceptional player as well.
Unfortunately we in this part of the world were not ready to have an Asian descended chap play at that time.

His lad played for Motherwell before moving around the lower leagues and abroad.

A really nice guy, whether he has it for this role remains to be seen. But he is a deal maker and very clever

Duke

I think United have been known as a soft touch when dealing with agents for years - we've been done over by them since Eddie Thompson took over and we've been handing out money hand over fist for mediocre players. Hopefully Ashgar can get us some good deals in future.

Hark at you kidding on you know folk

You're lucky that laudrup is kidding on he's away for a few days otherwise he'd be all over this.

On second thoughts... it's probably more likely that you know the guy than that you can work the Wikipedia to discover all that stuff

People pick the most depressing month of the year to give up all the stuff they like.
