With three or four players bailing us out and us carrying passengers every week. It’s been the same since 2012, the last time we had a proper team maybe bar Contes machine like team that all gelled together.
We have our three stars. Hazard, nothing to say, kante(unreal again this year, my poty behind hazard) and azpi(been poor going back to run but the last month has put in some fantastic defensive performances.
For this reason I give azpi a pass for his woeful attacking ability(how often. Does this guy hit the full back with a cross!).
But I’m about done with the Willian’s, alonsos and moratas of our team.
Some opposition fans probably still rate Willian after seeing motd because the guy will do a bit of skill once a game but what a lazy, unproductive, lack of football brain player we have. Played with hazard about 200 times and only assisted the guy twice.
Alonso, fantastic in the air, great at popping up With a goal but they are few and far between, and most certainly not enough to outweigh his negative affect on the team(lack of pace, width or athleticism to get up and down the wing). Our moves go the same every play, cb to jorgino, looks up, hazard crowded out, no striker, left to alonso, cuts back in, retreat back to Kepa.
And don’t get me started on morata.
Until we have a balanced team again we will not challenge for the league. We have failed to surround hazard with any sort of movement or striker and will see him leave without fully maximising our potential with the best player in the league like Utd did with Ronaldo. A shame.
Top 4 is a must this year but it’ll be tough.

Again this is where are academy could help out but will be overlooked. We have very good kids with pace to burn. Sterling, James and Lampty on the right and Castillo and Dasilva on the left. James though may be more suited to central defence as he's more solid than Dujon.

Clearly our academy is only seen and used as a revenue stream to loan out and/or sell players on for a profit. Hopefully there's a rule change so that the club can't do that anymore and is left with no option but to bring through at least some of these players into the senior squad.
Maybe we need to get hit with a long transfer ban to help that happen. It would certainly stop the club buying some of the dross we've bought in recent times.

I'd love to see a change in the loan system rules Superb, were a club can only loan out a maximum number of players, say ten for example, and no youth player can be sent out on any more that two seasons loan period, it would then force clubs like us to, either give them opportunities or sell the on to lower clubs so they can actually get on with their careers, rather than stagnate as Baker, Mceachran and Chalobah have!

Chilwell is good but similar in skillset, quality and potential to Emerson. Would prefer us to aim for a top LB (Telles the dream), keep whichever out of Alonso/Emerson as back up.
Wann-Bisakka is a top defensive RB who's also impressing me more and more going forward. However I prefer we focus on Reece James.

Agreed. I remember hearing that a rule change was being considered but haven't heard anything since sadly. It's the only way the club will change it's ways.

He's more defensively solid than Sterling but not quite so rapid going forward (although he's still no slouch).

As much as I love Azpi, I don't think he really works in terms of Sarri's philosophy. City bought two quick and powerful fullbacks in Mendy and Walker, we need something similar.
I like the idea of signing two young English fullbacks who have been excellent this season - Wan Bissaka and Chilwell

He's only 22, definitely an improvement on Alonso. He needs to work on his final ball but he's a great athlete and has been playing well for Leicester.

Can’t agree on this one. Headless chicken comes to mind. Like u say great athlete, but like Walker/sterling etc I feel will be overrated due to physical traits.
He is a complete opposite of alonso though I’ll give you that, and is still young, and British which will help our quota

His crossing is too good to waste at CB, and he has the highest dribbles completed and second highest chances created of any teenager in Cjampionship this season, good on the ball. He’s literally a perfect two way RB, don’t see him at CB myself unless RCB in a three.
