DUFC News

Given it's the transfer window I suppose there's more news swirling about than usual, particularly given that United have a little bit more spare change than we expected after Ogren's takeover.

The American has spoken with Robbie Neilson and apparently all is wonderful, which you would expect at this stage.

The transfer news has come from the mouth of Neilson and there are two deals expected to be completed. The first is the signing of former Celtic kid and, until Wednesday when he was released, MK Dons frontman Aiden Nesbitt. Nesbitt of course played for Neilson at his last club so it'll be the second time he's signed for the manager.

The other expected signing is former United favourite Morgaro Gomis, who is training with the club. Again, I'm fairly sure Gomis played under Neilson at Hearts so he knows him well, and assuming he's close to the standard he was at when he was last at the club then Jimmy should do well again - although we haven't the best record with returning heroes.

The links with the two lads from Raith are apparently dead though, which is a shame as one was a winger.

The manager has also confirmed that the deal for Curran to link up again with Jim McIntyre at Dens is a potential goer and I very much hope this happens. He's awful and the decision to give him a three year deal at the start of the season looks even more mental than it did when he was given it.

I'm sure we'll make a few moves this window and hopefully they're done as early as possible.

Goran covers it pretty well.

I imagine the Dees will look to make a few signings in the same way United did during our relegation season. Panic buys are what most clubs do at this point when they're in trouble.

I think the Dees have already let a few go too?

We told players they were surplus to requirements before the Saints game and still played them. Great idea. Then Kamara was just trying not to get injured so got hooked at half time. The game was like meeting your ex for a coffee for the last time to hand over some of her stuff.

The differences between your relegation season and our survival season this season is that you were cut off from the rest. We have two equally shiiite teams to keep us company. We will likely be signing some big Scottish players, mainly from County.

I was at the Saints game, and right from the very off we really just did not look like losing to Alloa

The problem you have is that the players you'll sign are likely to be guys who haven't been in the picture for the teams they've been playing for. But you'll have to put them straight in.

It'll take them a month or so to get up to speed. The older players (and you will sign 'experience' to help) will suffer muscle injuries and will never be fully fit. And you'll still be left with some of the duds the manager wants rid of. Guys with the losing mentality.

You might survive but it's not looking good for you. St Mirren are your best bet and they look equally rotten. But even then I think you'd both struggle in the play-offs too - unless you play us, obviously. We're awful.

I was thinking Hamilton would be our best bet as they are unlikely to improve much. St Mirren should improve under their new manager, and so should we. Hamilton will always be this shiiite.

I'd be confident of winning in the play offs if I didn't remember that we've already lost 2-0 at home to Dunfermline and 3-0 at home to Ayr this season. But they would more than likely be close affairs like us against St Mirren, same kind of level.

We shall see in a couple of weeks as we have an important defeat against QOTS coming up in the cup.

Hamilton are always capable of getting the odd win here and there which always seems to propel them up the table. It's very annoying.

Think we should just do a deal. Dundee get to stay up, but that also means that United get to come up and replace Hamilton. Everyone is happy apart from Hamilton's 15 fans.

I support this deal.

I still hate Billy Reid.

Would be good to see Gomis back. If he can play anywhere near his abilities then he'll be a massive improvement over whoever is supposed to be in central midfield at the moment.
