Liverpool Starting XI

Mignolet £10m

Moreno £12
Lovren £20m
Fabinho £39m
Camacho £0m

Milner £0m
Keita £48m
Shaqiri £13m
Jones £0m

Sturridge £12m
Origi £10m

Total £164m

Probably worth more than the entire Wolves squad I wouldn't be surprised (although cannot be bothered to verify!).

and probably worth 10s of millions more than the XI that Spurs will field tonight in the Cup Semi-Final vs Chelsea

Seemingly money doesnt always buy success!

Squad not really been tested though has it. Never really missed more than a couple players at a time, which is normal rotation/use of squad.

We currently have one fit centre back.

That's pretty testing...

Lets see how long your form continues if this injury crisis persists for longer than the 87 minutes it has lasted so far
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would say only having two fit CB's since the start of December is still pretty testing given how many games you play in December. Lovren and VVD have had to play 10 games in 30 days and was probably the reason Lovren got injured last night.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So Spurs having Vertonghen and Sanchez missing for long periods this season have not had the same problem. But we haven`t been moaning, we have adequate cover in Toby, Foyth, Dier etc, even Davies. Liverpool obviously do not.

Where was I moaning? Simply pointing out that our squad has been tested.

I think last night just highlighted how weak Liverpool are in depth, a couple of injuries and their season will be in disarray.

We have 1 fit centre back, what more do you want?

Also lost AOC, Keita, Mane, Milner, Henderson and various others throughout the season.

Keita 48 mill . Think it’s fair to say they have had their panties pulled down on that one

Key thing being you've had VVD and one other fit to play alongside him, and his partner has varied from Gomez to Matip to Lovren through December.

Hardly a crisis. And last nights performance was less about your defending and more about your midfield and attacking options beyond first choice. Shaq is usually excellent but few of the others are any good and Lallana is either not trusted or just perma-injured.

Having 2 out of your 4 CB’s injured. and to then have a third go off injured 6 minutes into a match isn’t a crisis?

Yet all we’ve heard from certain Spurs fans all season is ‘yeah but Verts/Tobes have been injured’.

In that moment, in that game, yes may be it is.

Point made by me earlier is that your squad depth hasnt had to be tested too much this season, to which the response was that having 2 CBs to chose from in December is a crisis, which it isnt. Not having your preferred 2 is not ideal but having VVD and Lovren or Matip is not the worst thing.

BUT, what i think most of the top teams show is that they can use their squad vs much of the league. Play Lovren vs NUFC, Burnley etc and you'll be ok. Have to play him vs City etc and it may be the difference and it was. He was 'involved' in both City goals.

As the season grinds on we will see if LFC pick up key injuries and if they are able to cope with them. I do not wish you ill but beyond Shaqiri i dont see too many quality options if you lose 1 or 2 of your creative/scoring options.

As i said, it wasnt really the defence that cost you. First goal was Milners error, 2nd was a thunderbolt from range. To me it was the poor quality in attack/creativity that stood out. Usually a team with such movement and dynamism. Not much changed when the big guns came on
