Perspective and reality

All those calling for chop for Puel.
whats that going to gain?
We need to strenghten the squad and even with him in place who's going to want to join the Squad
Gazzelle gets load of stick for yesterday as usual but he scored for God sake when the player who won the the league failed.
Young players in the team and hopefully Barnes will lose their mentor.
But here's one for you Vardy rested or not cup tied so he can be sold in January.

Taking your point is it Klopps fault that Liverpool lost or the players.
We have learned what most of us thought the squad players are not good enough can you imagine that lot playing twice week when we are in Europe.

So Puel is staying till the end of the season maybe longer unless Raffa bails so get used to it or your going to need medical help if he does.

Totally agree with that point on Puel Dunge. As long as it’s a public lie, it’s good management all round.

Personally I think Puel’s style would be a bigger road block for any forward thinking of coming to Leicester.

Plus the fact Puel has stated many times, he’s happy with his squad, happy with the James’s, the Morgans’s and the Ian’s.

Playing a bit of devils advocate here....... a lot of people on here and at the KP are saying that CP should be performing better with the squad that we have.
Therefore implying that the squad is acceptable and that the failings are down to CP alone.
Now CP comes out and says that he is happy with the players and he gets lambasted.
Most of us are happy with the squad just not the tactics.....

Is this a lose lose SCENARIO FOR cp?

If it wasn’t for Hamza’s breakthrough this season then Matty James would be either on the pitch or on the subs bench.

Ian is first choice replacement for Vardy.

Gray is sometimes first choice

Albrighton is our best winger

Mendy is our best midfielder (current form due to demise of N’didi)

And some people are saying that we have a squad that only needs a good manager to tweak it for us to progress to the next level?

Puel might well not be the answer, but he’s only part of the problem. We have the same recruitment issues that many teams our size have. We have some very good players, but areas of significant weakness in our squad.

I see that a potential new manager might be able to deliver an immediate performance improvement - in terms of progressive football and entertainment. But sustaining a position as best of the rest or pushing closer towards the top six is something that will take a lot more than just sacking Puel.

Not quite sure why Nev.......

We have seen glimpses of the way the current squad can perform, i.e. the Chelsea and Man City games, when utilised to the players strengths and not to the negative standard tactics that we see 90% of the time.

I also am happier with the squad than tactics. I think it’s clear I think our squad is better than many other on here.

I believe Iborra was good enough. I believe Silva could be if played in a suitable system.

I believe Nacho is a good player. Like Kramaric, and Musa before, he looks to be on the floor here for whatever reason. But with the right system I think he’s good enough.

Diabate and Ghezzal have even shown glimpses of tea talent. I’m not arguing their performances have been good enough, just they could be. They will need 1-2 seasons to find out maybe.

Are Simpson and Fuchs suddenly poor defenders? Nope.

Benkovic and Sonyucu look like really good additions.

The only real “deadwood” I think we have near the first team are King and James.

Our squad is large and strong. I honestly can’t beleive that all those players are as bad as they are playing. I do beleive in a different system we would see a different side of them.

Now, if we’re saying that we have a strong squad for PUel’s system, I’d totally agree. To me it doesn’t look like the first team is good enough for it!

^^ and I think this is the crux of the problem
It would probably work with spurs or arsenal
Either way the manager should have a list of players he wants and until then
Play the squad to there abilities

I was also playing a bit of Devil's advocate as well, the Puellists like to push the blame onto players, Nevs sowing the seeds for it all being Vardy's fault and Foxello never wants to see half the players on the pitch again.

Lets take Morgan as an example, I personally don't have too much problem with him but can see he does lack pace as everybody else does, he struggled at the start of the season in a big part for being exposed by Puel tactics, even getting himself off a couple of times.

Now Foxello never wants to see him again play for Leicester and Nev at one stage said he'd start to turn on Puel if he brought him back in.

Well Morgan gets brought back straight in even when his replacement has been doing well, Dragovic even left last season.

So in defense of Puel Puellists will say Morgan isn't good enough yet he's a firm favourite of Puel and looks like he'd be first on the team sheet every time.

Mendy is a favourite of Puel, now again I'm not against him but he's another marmite player who gets played at very opportunity and the whole style is almost based around him.

Matty James, again, a Puel favourite, he talks about him positively when ever he's mentioned yet most fans wouldn't want him in the squad at all.

So, is it a weak squad or one where Puel is satisfied with what he's got?

I saw this article on Puel and I think it sums him up perfectly at Leicester about how many feel.

While Puel has never done disastrously at any of his teams, he is routinely haunted by rumours of dissension in the ranks and the impending threat of a P45 landing on his desk come Monday morning. At Southampton the side’s form lost its aris in the final few months of the season as the dressing room became increasingly loathe of his ways. Stuart James of the Guardian reported in December that he is now having a similar effect on his Leicester players.

This is a reoccurring theme despite the fact he’s done just about as well as can be accepted at each club. Puel was one-and-done in 2016/17 with the Saints despite bringing them to the League Cup final and finishing a perfectly acceptable eighth. After joining the club in October last season to steady a poorly performing side, he guided Leicester to ninth in the Premier League table, yet his job was under pressure in the final weeks of the campaign.

“Seventh or eighth is the reality,” was his response to the murmurings.

Maybe that is part of the problem with Puel. Throughout his time in English football he has hit par, meeting expectations almost head-on. Fans of mid-table clubs are not fond of “the reality” however, because it’s boring, even if they would take a top-half finish before the season started. There’s no glory in that; no satisfaction in beating relegation, no hope of breaking into the upper echelon. That’s why resting players for cup games stings.

There could hardly be a better reflection of Puel, the only man capable of making beige look exciting. Like many of his managerial compatriots, he embodies an uninspiring French pragmatism that can garner results while producing unenticing football.

Which leaves one massive question, if Ranieri has second Season syndrome, can Puel survive another 'end of Season' collapse syndrome?
