Stadium to Open March 16th

Being widely reported today that we have set the game against Crystal Palace on March 16th as the opening date for new WHL.

Not just there, few sources reporting it. We know Levy met MACE the other day. Date could be subject to change depending on our progression in the cups.

Thoughts? Should we move 3/4 of the way through the season?

As far as I’m concerned Wembley can fack off. Will be much harder for non ST holder like me to get into new WHL, but the last couple of times I’ve been to Wembley it’s been drab - Wolves in particular was a dire atmos. The novelty has well and truly worn off.

Don’t think it would make a difference Sandy mate. If it was 7/8 games then totally understand, but for 3 games all feels pointless. It’s not like we don’t win games at Wembley is it ? Starting the next season fresh just seems the sensible thing to do. Spurs still haven’t confirmed it will be ready yet by March, shambles.

I’d take 20 mins at the stadium right now

Although I could get used to Club Wembley

So in April Wembley has 2 FA Cup Semi Finals on the weekend of the 6th when we play Brighton at home. Then there's the Anthony Joshua fight the week after when we're home to Huddersfield.

We can't use a 3rd venue so if we're not in by then there's a good chance we won't be able to fulfill our fixtures...

So we have to go into new stadium otherwise we are facked.

* if we was in the Fa cup semi that would negate that problem though

Ridiculous that you even get the chance to play at a new stadium that late in the season

Nah sorry it’s pointless. What to open up our massive stadium against palace ? Play just 3 home games ? Staying at Wembley for the remainder of the season will do us no harm. Still no actual confirmation from the club about it opening up against Palace, so chances are we won’t be moving there this season. Just open it up next season right at the start with a huge ceremony. A full season in the new stadium with hopefully CL football to, done!!! What a damp squid, all this and to open up for possibly palace and 2 games.

Given it may take a few games to get used to the new stadium, starting there next season sounds like the common sense thing to do.
New season, new stadium.........new coach! sorry, hust kidding about the last bit!

March 16th, but which year?

Seriously though, p poor management by the club, anyone that's been involved been involved in any high profile infrastructure project could have predicted that the timescales for WHL were incredibly optimistic and dependent on everything going like clockwork. Which never happens, because contractors buy projects at ridiculously low margins and spend their time trying to screw money out of the main contractor or client rather than actually working to the programme. I see it all too often, but unfortunately developers and clients fall for contractors BS everytime.

At this point I don't suppose it really matters now.... Assuming Its Palace as opening day, its only Brighton, Huddersfield, West Ham & Everton after that... Might as well start there next season

Some real glamour ties in there for the new stadium

What about the CL if you're still involved?
