Bielsa Press Conference: Pre-Derby

12.50pm: Welcome from Thorp Arch

Plenty of press here as Marcelo Bielsa faces the media ahead of Friday night's clash against Derby County and plenty to ask about - Derby, injuries and of course the January transfer window.
Could be another long one this....

1pm: Bang on time

Marcelo is here...

On Lewis Baker...going back to Chelsea

"I have the same information as you. It's not official yet but I think it's something true. It was something that was in the contract and obviously Chelsea and Baker chose to use this article to go back. He was always inside the group, even if it's true that he hasn't played a lot, maybe he felt that we didn't value him at the right level.

Silver lining for me is, we get to see more of Roberts.
That kid has a ton more to give. Still growing.

Might be a good idea for anyone going to the game on Friday night to bring their boots

Have no problem with Saiz and Baker leaving if not dedicated to the cause.

Do have s problem with Hernandez, not so much because it’s a big loss but because the clubs cover for Pablo/Saiz was a player they signed injured, that and the lack of commitment from Saiz and Baker demand that we rethink how we’re choosing players.

It’s crazy that the head coach especially one if Bielsa’s calibre, is not driving the recruitment process.

From me, as always.

One would think Baker would stick around for a couple more weeks as opportunities to play seem to be opening up.

Think the perceived lack of commitment from both players is understandable.

Also don't think the club has been at fault in how either have been handled.

We should have a list of players prepared to attempt to sign if this set of circumstances was to prevail the way it has.
At the moment we do not know if this is the case or not.
By the end of the window we will.

The names linked have been of a suitable calibre. But so far it looks like we are chasing lost causes or not selling the club/negotiating well enough.

Only time will tell.

Urgh....face palm.

We are struggling big time, if the extra players aren't here NOW then I fail to see the value in adding them later when our squad is coming back to fitness?

An absolute shower in terms of squad size, I'd probably play Klich in behind Roofe or Roberts.

I DO NOT under ANY circumstances wish to see Roofe or Roberts playing out wide.

Shackleton to D with Cooper coming in.
