Champions league games on Weekend

This idea seems to be mooted that CL games will be played on weekends meaning the league fixture for that week will be midweek. Probably will be the whole PL league fixtures as UEFA don’t like domestic top level games to clash.

How do people feel about this? Travelling abroad might be easier but will these be evening or day kick offs? I’m thinking about the night Anfield atmosphere won’t be replicated day time.

Looks like this is something TV companies and sponsors are pushing for. I don’t like the idea at all. Thoughts?

Well the early Europa league style kick offs in the CL are crap, so I hope they get rid of them.

If they limit it to 1 saturday match per round then that would be okay. If the English teams can only play once on a Saturday in the group stages ( same with German, Italian, French, Spanish etc) then it won't have a major impact on domestic football. It's all about moderation, less is more.

They want to move it all to weekend so no half way measure. Probably have day and evening games although Sunday night might be harsh but if that’s what the TV companies want it will happen.

It’d be Saturday and Sunday for sure.

Yeah I just think they could keep everyone happy by limiting themselves to 1 Saturday game. Spurs vs Barca, Lpool vs PSG, Athletico vs Dortmund will bring in huge viewing figures on a Saturday night, they don't need Lyon vs Hoffenhiem at the same time

Awful idea, hope it doesn’t happen.

Defeats the point of the 3pm blackout surely.

All weekend games (mostly) are finished before 6pm on a Saturday or Sunday. So UEFA should be forced to make do with late evening kick offs.

Not a justified reason to move all fixtures to midweek.
