Spurs won last night 1-0, yet all

I have seen and heard all day long about is a VAR decision, which was correctly given. There will be hundreds of these decisions next season, are they going to analyse every single one like last nights decision. That said Michael Oliver had a shocking first half, Spurs should have had several free kicks, which he just waved away.

What was the problem. Correct decision, penalty taken, penalty scored.

Advantage Tottenham.

My issue is it was a pen and he dived...

Could he have hurdled the keeper and stayed up? yes but why should he as the ref then would not give the pen.

Was there enough contact for both his legs to end up in the position? No he exaggerated it but if he didn't he wouldn't have got the pen that to be fair he deserved.

Im hopeful that the use of VAR will mean this sort of argument will cease to exist.

However onside or offside still seems to be a matter for debate which will always happen but surely its got to make the officials at least more effective.

It was not a dive, 100 per cent. You were happy that Salah got a penalty last week, despite the oppo player barely touching him at all, a feather would have been a harder touch, yet the goalie wiping Kane completely out is not a penalty but a dive in your opinion.

You should really read what I have written...literally in the first line of my post I state it WAS a pen!!??
So the last line of your reply is completely false...

Gk clearly has hit both his legs and full speed.

That picture does not show the whole story tbh, MK.

Lol it shows the gk hit both his legs (at full speed). It’s shouldn’t even be up for a debate.

Clear as day and if people say any different then they are clueless

I felt the same when people were questioning our penalty against Arsenal. Whining because Salah could have stayed on his feet, ignoring that the Arsenal defender literally kicked him 3 times not touching the ball once.

Spot on.

If a player ( in our case kepa) is stupid enough to come flying out miss the ball and hit into a player why on earth would he stay on his feet.

Do people Moan when players get tugged back on halfway line and end up on the deck, doubt it.

Exactly my point there is no reason he should stay on his feet (either kane or salah) if its a foul anywhere else on the pitch then its a pen. However if nither go down niether get it as the ref will bottle it in the area.

Both exaggerate the fall but both are pens

As an ex referee, it was a clear penalty in my opinion.

Goal keeper never got anywhere near the ball and made contact with Kane.

Whilst the offside is slightly more contentious, if there is any doubt then my advice to my linesmen was NOT to flag
