Sean ODriscoll sacked when in 7th place, Paul Clement sacked by us in 7th place, Gary Rowett sacked by Brum in 7th place, now Karanka sacked when in 7th place. Managers know what position to avoid.

The common theme being that each of those decisions led to decline rather than improvement at each club.

We finished 5th Will but all the others led to a drop in performance. What ever happens I am certain you can appoint someone a bit more cheerful than Karanka.

realistically where were forest fans expecting to finish this year, I know some cash was spent and expectations were high but did fans expect to be much higher than 7th at this stage? ive watched you lot a few time this year and its not as if the football as awful long ball stuff, the players can move it about a bit and the team is very difficult to actually beat

So it appears that we have merely changed one spoilt ‘Man Child’ for another. Just like Fawaz, the minute instant gratification isn’t forthcoming the toys are swiftly dispatched from the pram and the whole sorry saga recommences. I am sure we will end up with some second rate foreign ‘coach’, who may have had a modicum of success elsewhere, but guess what, won’t fancy half the players he inherits, and wants a whole new squad, sound familiar ? That isn’t aimed at AK who I rate very highly. As I said earlier in the thread I am a season ticket holder, but won’t be rushing back anytime soon. Hopefully the latest manchild EM, will get what he deserves. We do not deserve promotion this season, purely because the club is a basket case. I rue the day the foreign owners started taking over OUR football clubs. Very few have contributed anything positive in my opinion.

I've always thought that the test of a good manager/coach is to get better performances/results than the previous manager with the same players.
Am I wrong?

Guess we will see Red, in a few weeks time, assuming we have someone in place.

Realistically, I was hoping for a top ten finish with signs that the team was progressing in the right direction. I was hoping that the manager who was given a two and a half year deal would be given that amount of time to lay the foundations that the club sorely lacks. Yes, the spent money in the summer but that was only to get them on an equal footing with other clubs in the top ten as they have been so far behind recently. Realistic fans knew it wouldn’t suddenly turn the club into promotion certainties. If only the Greeks were of the same mind...

How dare you think reasonably Will!

So it’s the same old story yet again. Why do Forest keep getting these clueless owners. You appoint a man - let him get on with his job, which he was doing reasonably well.
Good luck to Aitor, I’m sure he’ll find a new club fairly soon. As for whoever comes in next, they’ll need plenty of luck because with these owners, time won’t be something that they will have plenty of.
A permanent manager lasting more than a year would almost be as big an achievement as Forest making the playoffs. I felt top 6 was achievable, now anything more than mid table would surprise me.

Aitor Karanka will go on to manage another Championship team and get them promoted before Forest is my prediction, sadly.
