You can’t just ignore the fact teams around us have improved significantly.

Yup massively. I don't remember a season where there's been this level of quality competition for the top four spaces.

Our problem is a complete and utter lack of top class goalscoring striker options. That we're having to play Hazard in that position every game shows how desperate things have got.

Undoubtedly.

Would have thought that would have been top of the list.

Arsenal as poor as their squad is in places even have two top finishers. Has there been any movement on that front?

Exactly. You can paper over most cracks in a side when you have top class goalscoring strikers. Conversely when you don't have top finishers is when the cracks gets exposed.

I have nothing against sarri or his methods but the fact remains that if we fall out of top 4 then he will be under pressure and could very likely be sacked.

The simple matter is we need a striker, it’s so obvious that even the officials know it

Arsenal are away to West Ham and Utd are away to Spurs so while we play Newcastle at home.. We could open up a decent gap again should results go our way so it's that time again.. looking for favours of other teams.

Well City, Pool and Spurs are all better than us at the moment, especially while we don't have a striker. So finishing any higher than 4th this season would be overachieving.

And more fool the club if they sack a manager for not finishing top four in the toughest season on record to get top four. Especially a manager who is trying to completely transform our style of play.

As Pep and Klopp showed in their respective first seasons nothing spectacular happens in that first season and improvement is gradual and can only really be seen after a full year in charge.

A faint yes for Sarri to stay as Chelsea manager for me.

Interesting to see Sarri getting such little support from some of our fans. Honestly not sure what more should be expected of him up until now, especially without a finisher in the side. We're still in all cup competitions and where we should be in the table.
