Forster

I caught a wee snippet of the Southampton manager's (not going to attempt to spell his name) press conference yesterday where he made it clear that he's looking to ship the big man out. Denoting him to playing with the U-23's.

Assuming we could afford his wages (doubtful tbh), I'd love to see us try and bring him back up the road. Gordon, as good a shot stopper as he is just doesn't command his area at all. Too lightweight and the less said about his passing, the better. Isn't getting any younger either, and Bain is not the answer.

Couldn't see us having much chance of enticing Forster up the road but it's a nice dream to have

How much do you reckon they'd ask for him.. £10m? £15m

tbf that was Paddy's weak spot mind you.

It was accentuated cos in every other respect he was class.

Other shyyte keepers got away with it.

They were worse at crosses than Paddy but even worse in other areas.

I've never understood how little clubs are willing to pay for GK's.

Fork out fortunes on duff 'strikers' & 'attacking midfielders'.

It's changing, with the money leagues anyway.

Brazil's second best keeper was about 70m in the summer wasn't he?

Courtois wouldn't have been cheap either.

Forster's a great keeper and I'd take him back in a heartbeat, but if we're looking at someone to play out with the ball at their feet he might even be worse at that than Gordon

His kicking was honking

Well the proof is in the pudding for Liverpool - shoitte keeper Loris Karius cost them many a game including any chance in that European final and now they have a keeper who at least isn't a calamity waiting to happen and doesn't look like the major weak link in their side.

He's got away with a few clangers already. Undoubtedly a much better keeper but he'll have more moments like that i reckon.

Surprised he's number 1 for Brazil, from what i've seen Ederson is well ahead.

Ederson is definitely the better keeper.

Foster won't be back at the club because Rogers demands a keeper have some football skills to help with passing the ball out from the back. Big Lurch would be absolutely hopeless at it and would be far worse than Gordon at that aspect of the game.

The flawed perception that so many managers have that good strikers win you games.

They can but then so can good in every other position.

Stats from EPL show it’s more valuable not to lose a goal than to score one.
