I have time for Emery, I really do..but I have questions. His lineups are baffling at times.
Xhaka (who I will never be a fan of), worked very well with Torreira. I get the latter was ill a bit but has been back. Why not restore that partnership??? Ozil is our best creative player...even in his worst showings...where is he?? I don't buy the injury story. I thought he plays ok with Xhaka and Torreira behind him. Our midfield looks pedestrian without him. Ramsey is a good player, but not the one who will look to create as much...he often wants to be on the end of things.
Anyways, we are crying for a midfielder who can play the ball through the lines. Guendouzi is not it and with him and Xhaka as a pair, it means Xhaka is the dm again, and th sat NEVER works.

Come you can’t be this thick. Appointing a coach for the short term doesn’t mean there’s no intent for the build a squad for the coach.

So shouldn't Emry then play his way?
I'm hardly saying something outrageous here saying a manager should make his team play how he wants FFS ironic you call me thick really

What it seems to me is you're saying Emry should only play to suit his players, not pit his own stamp on the team cause he's a short term appointment but also the club should build him a squad so he can play to their strengths.
Correct if I'm taking this up wrong here skip but what you're saying is a complete contradiction

Essentially DO you're saying he needs to get a heap of new players in but untill then he should play how it suits the players. That's ridiculous
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Playing to the strengths of your squad is ridiculous?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it means sacrificing the way the manager wants his team.to play then is argue it is.
Hes going to waste a season if he just plays to suit players untill he gets in new players in.
Do you as a gooner want to be stasrting next season with a heap of new players and Emry changing the entire way you play?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The biggest problem with this is we are not playing a consistent style of football as it is. It is chop and change , different tactics every week, big tactical changes at half time. So in reality he is doing neither what you say or what I say, but more drifting between them and more.
Yes I do want to see a load of new players and a change of style next season. I don't want to see Auba as a winger, or AMN as a left back or Torreira as an attacking midfielder. I want to see players playing in roles that bring the best out of them. And the XI I put up that started this discussion, in the formation I put up, is what I believe to be the best solution for now.

Sdo what do you want from this season DJ?
I'll bow to your knowledge on how it's been as I've not watched every game of yours as I'm sure you have.

I want signs of going in the right direction. And tbh that looks more and more like getting rid of players rather than results on the pitch.
If we finish 6th with no cups it won't be great, but if then we move on certain players and try and find players to fit Emery then I will take it. (Not worried about spending massive amounts either, just get the right players in)

I guess, in terms of what I want from Emery, is a boss who can see what's not working and find solutions.
Emery, it seems, is seeing a lot that isn't working but finding solutions in the squad is impossible - hence the constant changes.
That is why I want him to go back to basics until the solutions can be imported in.

His Seville side were very good when we played them. Particularly Banega he ran the show v us.
I like him and his style of football and defo think with tome and backing he can be a success.
Coming into a club that's been under such a single influence for so long can't be easy when trying to change things.

This is hard work. I’m not saying he should only play to suit his players. I’m saying he doesn’t really have a idealist philosophy for his players to suit.

That's a fair comment I think we're in a way saying something similar here.
