Pretty drab game overall but we got the job done. Tough away Brighton they set up well and are very compact so a really good 3 points.
Great work by Mo to win the pen even though he'd a pretty quiet day.
Thought Hendo was poor first half but was good second half, he needs to up his overall performances but more of what he showed in the second half would be good to see.
Fabinho was good, put in lots of good blocks and is positionally sound at centre back which is good to see as we might need him again at centre back.
VVD is arguably the best player in the league this season can't think of a player who has been as consistently good as him.
Anyway 3 big points puts pressure back to city and spurs to get results now and after the 2 defeats just good to get a win.
Gwan the 7 points clear reds.

Yeah its the readon we've managed to get such a high points tally as we've not won loads v top 6 sides overall. Fergie was great at beating the sides from 7th to the bottom home and away.
Agree we were a bit flat today but Brighton set up didn't help. Hard to get real tempo going v a teasm who sit in their own half.

Was at your game today, as I live near Brighton and got offered a free ticket in the home end.
It was a pretty drab game and Brighton didn’t really challenge you with their defensive set up. First half Brighton closed the space well and stopped you playing, but were a bit sloppy themselves in possession. Van Dijk absolutely bossed Murray, but Locadia provided a good outlet for them. Start of the second half it looked like Liverpool stepped it up a little bit and Brighton got a bit lax, which led to the goal. Good work from Salah but the Brighton defender will be disappointed to have been turned so easily. Nothing really happened after that and the game fizzled out in the end. A pretty comfortable win.
One thing I will say though was that the ref was absolutely terrible. Gave so many free kicks for things that weren’t fouls and seemed to give all 50/50 decisions Liverpool’s way. The penalty was about the only thing he got right. As a neutral, I thought it was a bit embarrassing and really disrupted the flow of the game. I’m sure he was even helping Liverpool time waste at the end.

I thought Salah was great second half. Every time he got the ball he went forward, which is what we needed. Good to see Matip back on the bench too. He had two good games and was unlucky to get injured.
The result was all that mattered today.

Agree. I’d heard quite a few pundits talking about how we’d respond to our first league defeat of the season.
Away win and a clean sheet is a pretty good response as far as I’m concerned - regardless of the opponent.
