Ozil - Numerous poor decisions by W & G

I shall not go in depth but as the circumstances was back then. Firstly, we were interested in Higuian and Arsenal desperately needed a striker and Wenger made a mess bargaining over the price and lost Higuian to 30 something millions to Napoli.

Then suddenly at the end of the transfer window we signed Ozil for RECORD TRANSFER, despite having decent midfield with Cazorla running things from the middle and potential Fabregas deal for much less. Of course Ozil had world class reputation but he was also famous luxury player. The BIGGEST problem was Wenger once again ignored the CRITICAL PROBLEMS Arsenal had i.e. Striker, DM and Defence for how many years? ......

He was exactly a type of player Arsenal did not need on their books, then whole drama of inconsistent and declining Ozil in a team he was not suited to play in. He did perform good some season but never reached his potential or the heights he was capable of. He was clearly not suited for Arsenal or English Premier League.

Trying to fit him in, meant Cazorla had to play DM for christ shake which surprisingly....the little magician became one of best in the Prem until his unfortunate injury. The team had a luxury player who did not like defending and extra work for already weak midfield and defence

The second stage of this mess was giving him 350k weekly wages???? WTF no club was interested in him unlike Sanchez, he did nothing not justify that wages specially in Arsenal ranks.

And now we are stuck with highly expensive luxury who has fallen out with the manager with almost no clubs interested in taking him onboard.

He played 3 or 4 games after that, the reason he didn't play 90 mins is because he got subbed for being crap! Honestly I'm surprised you're an Ozil fanboy, thought he would be the kind of player you don't like. I'm not even interested how he played this season I gave up on him a long time ago, Emery is doing what should have been done years ago. I get what you're doing trying to make out Emery is mismanaging him whereas Wenger got more out of him, it's nothing to do with the managers the problem is the player himself.

Mate the entire team have played badly. Yet we still see iwobi xhaka and Lichsteiner get game after game. Poor excuse

I don't want a mourinho or conte type manager who falls out with star players and makes his position untenable I want a Klopp or pep who puts and arm round a sterling and makes him play with confidence

Ozil's not a star player he's a fraud and a toxic influence on the club so I fully back Emery on this. Putting an arm around him is what we've done for the last 5 years and he's taken us for a ride. Mourinho was a lot harsher with him at Real and that's where he played his best football.

As an isolated transfer I don't think he was a bad signing at all but as you've said he wasn't what we needed looking at the squad.

Yes we won a couple of trophies but I put next to zero improvement value on winning the FA Cup (it's just a nice day out, not a barometer of anything).

This was the clubs issue under Wenger towards the end, it was all about "bargains" never about identifying a weakness and doing all you can to fix it. Ozil was world class, the price we got was decent. It didn't work out particularly well in the end though.

The absolute criminal mismanagement came from not fixing the glaring weaknesses in the squad. That is Wenger's end of career legacy and it's a real shame. The contract disgraces we see now are him and Gazidis but I imagine more Gazidis who was a facking clown chancer caaant.

Toxic influence? This isn't Balotelli setting of fireworks or fighting other players ffs. What has he done to warrant that description? You are just making it up to create some kind of justification for this situation.

Fa cup a nice day out stupid comment, it's the most important domestic cup trophy in the world with a century of history that was taken seriously by the best managers who have managed here . You just say that because Wenger and Ozil won it so you need to discredit it

No, like I said it's a nice day out. My honest opinion.

To me it doesn't demonstrate genuine improvement, league performance does

FA Cup is a genuine major trophy. It's a shame some fans have devalued its importance by comparing it to the PL and CL trophies.

Whatever I or anyone might think of Wenger, winning the FA Cup 7 times is an amazing acheivement. Believe me, no matter what the likes of Pochettino or Klopp might say, they'd kill to win a trophy as prestigious as the FA Cup.

It's a great achievement, it doesn't show improvement though (not by itself).

We are a massive club, we shouldn't be judged by winning the FA Cup. We should do a lot better than that.
