The 6 Minute Scarf Wave

I'm starting to see comments/suggestions for a 6 minute scarf wave for Toby at the next game (Stoke) or maybe even the remainder of he season.

Anyone else aware of this?

Splendid idea, I think.

Just saw this in All Leeds Aren't We group on FB:

Normally I can't stand scarf waving, but I would wholeheartedly participate if this were the reason if I was attending the game.

Horrible thing that's happened to a special member of the Leeds United family.

Lubo, I have a good laugh at the Los Angeles fans of LUFC who wear scarves in >30C heat!

But its become a big part of the fan culture here.

I understand the concept, but I'm tall and just get hit in the head a lot by the people around me. Not so much fun.

To be honest, I think all these tributes at different times in matches kind of devalues the tributes.

Obviously there are tragedies in life all the time and if it provides comfort for the families then it must be a help, but one can almost force a time where clubs start charging to organise these things, the same way that they are now charging small fortunes for kids to be mascots.

I think that some sort of remembrance corner to a club might be an idea, somewhere with a digital picture frame that scrolls through memories of fans/players lost in last 12 months, where one could make donations to club charity and pay respects on match days and otherwise.

Anyone who thinks that not acknowledging these sad circumstances are devoid of feelings towards the supporters of our great club, unless they are the ones who are actively involved, need a lobotomy.

You should be ashamed of yourself fella.

Great article, great idea, cannot think of anything better for the lad. Such a small gesture we can all get involved in, to show our support & feelings to Toby's family, letting them know we all are thinking of them & we do care.
