Spine Of The Team

OK, so we`re all happily riding the OGS wave long may it continue!, with nothing decided yet on who will be "permanent" manager when the 2019-20 season kicks off.

For me, the below players should form the spine of team, regardless of whether it`s Ole, poch or anyone else.

De Gea
Lindelof
Shaw
Pogba
Herrera
Lingard
Marrtial
Rashford

Also Dalot, Bailly, Chong, Gomes, Romero, McTominay, Joel Pereira, Fosu -Mensah to be retained.

Thoughts??

Don't buy into this Ole doesn't favour Bailly argument.

Ole opted for Jones and Lindelof for his first two games as they were the ones in form at the time. Once Bailly got up to pace, he opted for him over Jones and of course, he got himself sent off, hence his absense in the past three games.

I think we will see if Ole rates Bailly in the coming run of favourable games. I still feel Bailly and Smalling are our current best CB partnership and Lindelof and Bailly have the potential to become a good pairing. Their attributes seem to complement.

I think we need better than Shaw as well. Certainly from an attacking standpoint.

I like Herrera and Lingard and I do think they both have a role to play but I do feel we need better to be 1st choice in the long run if we want to get back to being a real top side.

Lingard will get respect as a top player one day.....

A lot really depends on what our transfer policy will be this summer. And if we get CL football could impact on that. I’m not averse to taking a longer term approach in trying to develop the team and style of play with a view to competing at the very top in a few years. Problem is whether the club wants to take that approach.

Perhaps i should have said "players we need to build a team around".

And the reason i put Lindelof in ahead of Bailly, who i totally rate, is because Lindelof is in form now and up to now they can`t play together. We need a more experienced centre half alongside one of them. Then again, Ole has managed to get a tune out of the rest of the squad where Jose couldn`t. Lets see.

Absolutely.

If it takes a while so be it but let's just get as much right as possible and minimize the mistakes.

Not convinced by Pereira, McT or TFM.
Haven’t seen enough of Chong, Gomes and Dalot.

I’m surprised Romero has stuck with us. We’re lucky to have him.
