From the BBC.
Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is the subject of loan interest from clubs in England and Scotland.
McTominay has featured only once in the Premier League under United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, in the final minute of Sunday's win at Tottenham.
The Scotland international, 22, is under contract until June 2021.
The club have yet to decide whether to let McTominay leave Old Trafford for the second half of the season.
That decision could be influenced by whether fellow midfielder Marouane Fellaini stays at United.
After months of negotiations, the 31-year-old Belgium international signed a new two-year deal in June.
However, Fellaini has started only one Premier League game since United were defeated at Manchester City on 11 November.
One obvious issue would be Fellaini's wages, meaning that if he was to move, it would only be for a longer contract.
McTominay loan dependent on Fellaini...

But your initial point was that he doesn’t have the technical ability to play for us, so that was what I addressed.
I don’t see much of a future for him at United either. But I can see why a loan makes sense for all parties.
Fellaini is a different matter. But if the rumours of him going to Milan are true that is to do with their financial situation - so many of their signings are loans to buy.

If we're going to ship out (arguably) substandard players, wouldn't it be better to start with those we know have likely seen (or are at least seeing) their best playing days?
There's really no need to rush to sell homegrown Academy graduates on relatively paltry wages when we're carrying senior players on big money who don't make matchday squads.

Doing so also doesn't send a great message to those currently playing in the junior ranks who we'd like to keep on.

That’s true, rosso. Even if they don’t have a future at the club it also helps the players gain a reputation for themselves, that can help them make a decision on the future of their career. Even if they aren’t good enough I don’t think the club should be treating them with lottle regard for their futures. We aren’t Chelsea.

Championship or lower PL would be a good area to send him out on loan. Not sure Scotland are at a high enough level in their domestic league to gauge their potential. I know we have a lad at Hearts, but I stand by my opinion.

As long as he doesn`t go to rangers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've better players out on loan that McTominay FFS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Assuming you`re a rangers supporter, it`s your manager who i don`t want having his grubby little paws on him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd hope our manager was of the same opinion.
I'm amazed he's made so many appearances for United and got into the Scotland squad. If he wasn't the size he is and Jose never managed United we wouldn't know anything of him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
He had an impressive first season. If he gets physically bigger and learns his trade the right way he could become some player.

.................
No, this won't be an issue.
He isn't going to move to a bigger club than us, so he isn't going to get a United wage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i wouldnt be too sure on that.
just because he doesnt fit in our team doesnt mean he wont fit in elsewhere at a big club.
Barcelona are reportedly looking at LLorente ffs as a back up striker, and he has looked worse than Fellaini.
reports suggest Milan are interested, and while like us they havent pulled up any trees recently they are still a huge club.

They're getting Fellaini so they can feel big again. At least on the pitch.
