Moussa Dembele

Lots of pics of him over in China meeting his new clubs staff and chairman etc, so we can safely say this will be announced officially at some point today. Great servant for us and on his day was one of the best midfielders in the league, but those days were few and far between in the last year or so. Will certainly do a brilliant job in the Chinese league, but maybe the premier league is to physical for his chronic injury.

That being said it now leaves us incredibly short in midfield once again. We have now sold one of our most experienced players and have a crock in Wanyama who is showing no signs of playing again this season despite “recovering". This leaves us with Dier who again isn’t fit and an injured Sissoko. Then we have the 2 rookies Skipps and Winks, who hopefully will be big players for Spurs in the future, but these are not 2 players we should be relying on in the centre of midfield with one of the biggest few months of our season coming up.

I have already made my feelings clear on the positions I want, but what central midfielder do we go for ? Do you honestly believe we will now buy in Jan? Be criminal not to now, almost borderline comical if we don’t.

By the way, regarding our midfield what has happened to Oakley-Boothe?

Poch played him a lot in the pre season friendlies and yet Skipp seems to be the one getting in.

I don't see any youth games so genuine question.

Got injured and then dropped back in to the youth teams.
Looked pretty average so far this season.

Don, I'm still fairly hopeful we can get over the line in the Chelsea game. I mean our defence is still strong and we only need to draw with them. Higuain is decent, but not one of the very top strikers in the world at this moment.

Agreed. I don't particularly rate Higuain personally, he's pretty slow, had issues with his weight in the past. Not a hold-up or link player, not especially strong... good finisher though. Bit of a throwback Inzaghi-style poacher who knows where the back of the net is but doesn't offer a huge amount else.

That said, he clearly likes playing for Sarri, considering how good he was under him at Napoli. The script is all written for him to be the difference in the 2nd leg, no matter whether I rate him or not

Diamond, Liverpool are going to win something mate, it’s just a matter of time. Probably the league this season, but they will win something this year if not next year. They are providing the manager with the required funds to challenge. The likes of Billy and Sandy ( love him to bits) can delude themselves all they like about Liverpool, but fact is they are miles ahead of us. They have totally eclipsed us. I honestly don’t feel we have what it takes to win trophies and until good solid investment is made, we will continue this path we find ourselves on until it’s to late and we end up losing the majority of this team. So close, yet so far.

they have hardly eclipsed us... we are still in all the cups....

Only my opinion but I think Chelsea will get top four if they sign Higuain. They have a top squad just lacking a decent striker.

It will be interesting to see if they finish above us if they make signings in January and we do not.

Don, take away the dozen or so points that Pool have been gifted by referees so far this season, and you have their true level. They have not eclipsed Spurs, they have spent a lot of money and improved at the back, but they are still being dragged along by the referees and the media.

Nah they have managed to keep key players fit all season. They are a good side but they have had a much easier schedule and capitalised on it.

Don they aint miles ahead of Spurs mate, hey have been dumped out of both domestic cups at their first attempt, and cannot win away from home in the CL to save their lives. I still think they will have a potless season. The Press carry them along.
