JA606 pets

Completely off topic (hope that's okay!) and in the interests of appreciating the community aspect of this forum that perhaps I have been guilty of not taking into account previously, here's a question for everyone.

Do you have any pets?

I'm a massive animal lover and have two rescue dogs - Billy and Bertie. They're English Springer Spaniels and they needed a home because their elderly owners were unable to care for them anymore.

Is this forum awash with animal lovers?

Funny you should say that - for reasons I won't bore you with, I was outside a David Lloyd centre for over an hour on a Monday morning one day, with my spaniels.

If I wasn't married, I think I'd have ended that hour with at least four dates. Unbelievable magnets!

So does anyone take their pet cat out on a lead?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I used to live next to an old boy when I was a kid who would take his Siamese out on a lead.

Someone at my school used to take their rat out on a lead!

Would have thought a cat would hate that, they are all about freedom. But I’ve seen people do it, decidedly strange to see

Just don't wear a mac and have a packet of sweets and you'll be OK!

Dogs are great conversation starters. Take them to a beer garden in summer and people will always come over. I have a rule in that I don't let kids pet the dog though unless I've told the parents that whilst he's usually friendly I can't be responsible if their little brats pull his tail etc.

We are contemplating getting another Westie, or maybe a Cairn Terrier.
Not sure how our 3 year old Westie would react, pretty sure she would be made up to have a friend to play with.
