Salah diving debate..

Seems to be a bit of a hot topic just now wrote my view on it on another post but thought as a Liverpool fan I would put a balanced point of view on it without showing bias. Don’t know what others think but feel it’s going to be talked about quite a bit this week..

I actually think he has been told to go down on contact either from Klopp or one of the coaches. Up untill about a month ago he constantly tried to stay on his feet he scored a great goal where the defender had two or three swipes at him and in one of the earlier games this season he took a pretty hard kick in the box stumbled stayed on his feet and tried to score it was a pretty blatant pen.. Since then he has been going down pretty easy but two of the pens he got recently were pretty blatant fouls.. So yes he has started going down easier but they all do especially in the penalty area let’s all be honest about it. That’s the game and if you have the skill to wrong foot a defender and they stick their leg out and don’t get the ball reguardless of the level of contact players always go down in the box. The defender puts themselves in that situation if they put their foot in and don’t get the ball or even slightly try and tug a player back that gets past them.. No one complains when their own team get them yet some hide behind their keyboards and attack the opposition player on social media.. Mass hypocrisy from your average football fan and guess at some point we have all been guilty of it in one way or another.

Because he’s been diving before this season, Term. It’s a part of his game. The op acts like it’s a recent thing. Which is laughable.

What do you class a dive? For me, it’s going down without contact. I’ve not seen Salah do that much, but he does go down very easily when he has been fouled. I believe most players do this, and are told to do it, because it can be the only way a ref will give it sometimes.

What fans also forget is how often players like Salah run with speed with the ball into the area, and that’s more likely to draw a foul. I remember when we had Suarez and he won loads of penalties, but he used to make loads of runs into the area every game.

He goes down easily when he hasn’t been fouled as well. That’s diving/simulation, and he’s up there with Dele Alli and Sterling as the three biggest cheats in the league.

I wonder if a certain Spurs supporter will open a thread on Rose diving just there in the Fulham match?

Suarez was denied more clear penalties than he got. Just as now with Mo, there was a media/other fans campaign to get him the status of unfoulable. Culminated, as I remember, in an away game at Norwich when, three yards from the ref, he was simply karate chopped in the neck from behind when clean through on goal. Needless to say, the ref took one look at the home crowd and played on. I remember one at Anfield too by Hull on him that was pretty similar. Even Alan Smith had to admit it was a blatant pen, after initially claimed that he'd somehow contrived to dive when Steve Bruce's son got him in a choke hold then kneed him in the side for good measure.

And that's what is going on here - when even Sokratis can scream 'dive' after hacking at him three times from behind, we can see that there's a co-ordinated strategy to stop one of the best dribblers in the Prem from getting any pens. Now, if they'd said about Mane diving - he's really pathetic!

Ed the king Woodward you have your anti Liverpool bias specks on.. I watch every Liverpool game and can tell you for a fact Salah up untill that incident where he stayed on his feet and took the shot on when clearly fouled in the box was more guilty of being fouled and not going down than diving when we could have had pens.. Since then something has very obviously changed as he is going down very easy now thus the suggestion, and that’s all it is a suggestion on a football forum where we debate football matters is he has been instructed to go down on contact. As he previously never used to do it if anything I would say he hasn’t quite mastered it yet and now when he dives it’s pretty obvious. That’s just my observation. Some might agree others not.. I think it’s a valid point to be honest.

Before the last month please find me a clip of Salah blatantly diving in the box resulting in a yellow card for simulation or a penalty for Liverpool to prove the point he has been diving for ages...
