This is what our board said a few months ago about the January window, that we will only act if there are major injuries. Well we have the injuries. Will our board act?
We currently have Holding out for the season. He was a regular first team players and we are yet to strengthen in defence.
Welbeck is also out for the season leaving only Laca and Auba as our only strikers. An injury either way and we are facked.
Bellerin is also out for the season and probably won't see him until the end of the year so that's another devastating long term injury. This one is probably the most damaging as he is pivotal to how we play. The replacements are unfortunately not good enough.
We have 10 days left in the window. Surely a Bellerin replacement has to be key? Are we really going to rely on AMN and Litchsteiner for the remainder of the season
January signings only in emergencies

If it's true Bellerin is out for the season, I don't understand how buying a RB/RW isn't a massive priority. We have zero width in attack. We're very reliant on our fullbacks to provide it for us, at the expense of our defensive game. With Bellerin out, we are now even more reliant on Kolasinac.
A winger was already much-needed last summer, now even more so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maitland-Niles is good enough to hold the fort.
What happens to any new buy next season. Why would and RB worth the money be willing to sit behind Bellerin?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have seen the difference it makes the team when Bellerin isn't there.
AMN is not a RB and doesn't have the instincts of a RB. Like someone has already said, all of our attacking play will have to rely heavily on Kolasinac

We'll see. Though I agree we will lose something with Maitland-Niles especially in a 3-4-3 you also have to note that Bellerin was still having defensive problems and I think AMN is actually a bit more sound defensively.
I hope we go to a 4-3-3. I think thats more suited to us. Playing the extra defender is one reason for our lack of recent creativity tbh.

I would probably give Jenkinson a go. He has actually been ok ever time he has played

In my opinion Jenkinson doesn't have the attacking ability. He does have an engine but there is a reason why he didn't do well in his loans. I was more intrigued by Emery's attempt at converting him to centre back. Think he'll be more suited there if he can make the change.

It doesn't have to be a RB, we need width on both wings too. This injury should be an incentive to get the winger that we've needed for ages.

I'd honestly give Jenkinson some game time. He seriously can't be any worse than Litchsteiner and at least he's got pace and an engine to get up and down the line.
In his defense when he went on loan he was promptly injured so hardly played.

I agree. He does have a bit of pace and can get up and down

Don't know many other teams that have the amount of ACL injuries that we do every season

It going to very difficult to find a suitable replacement In jan especially since Emery said we can only afford loan signings
