To the best manager in Football history. Complete gent who won 6 leagues in 8 years and the Uefa Cup followed by 3 European cups in 4 years which is an incredible achievement. He had Liverpool as the most dominant and feared clubs in Europe at that time.
Signed as a player in 1939 from non league side "The Bishops" he went on to win the league as a player in 1946 before becoming Manager. he retired after 44 years at the club in 1982. He died on 14 February 1996 at the age of 77 and was honoured by the club with the opening of the Paisley Gates at one of the entrances to Anfield which was a very sad day for Liverpool supporters as we waved goodbye to the biggest legend this club has had in my opinion.
Honours
Football League First Division: 1975–76, 1976–77, 1978–79, 1979–80, 1981–82, 1982–83
League Cup: 1980–81,1981–82, 1982–83
FA Charity Shield : 1974, 1976,1977, 1979,1980,1982
European Cup: 1976–77,1977–78,1980–81
UEFA Cup: 1975–76
UEFA Super Cup: 1977

6 league titles and 3 European cups in 7 years in charge! Imagine that in today's football, it would be god like status.
Still hugely underrated outside of LFC in my opinion

Wouldn’t happen now as you have to play more than 3 games to win a European cup...

That's still more than the number of games Chelsea actually played football in on their way to their CL trophy.

Produced the most dominant team(s) English football has ever produced.
Legend.

European games back in those days were tough. Travelling wasn't as easy. The opposition teams didn't give you a welcoming arrival. I have read many stories of hot water not working in hotels, many players getting food poising, changing rooms heating not working and generally conditions were a nightmare compared to the luxuries of today

Only manager in English football to have dominated both at home and in Europe.
He’s not a Sir to me. Bob was always more of an understated man and he seemed to prefer that.
Besides, who wants such a title when they’re handed out regularly for incompetence.

You're quite right in that he probably wouldn't have cared for it himself.
At the end of the game while they were handing out the medals to the players bob was usually back in the changing rooms already having a cup of tea.
But all the same it's a disgrace that he wasn't at least offered the recognition he deserved, especially when as you say they’re handed out regularly for virtually doing nothing nowadays.

Best manager ever
He never won a World Title (Intercontinental Cup) or an FA Cup (back when it was considered almost equal to the league in prestige).
Even the 3 European Cups isn’t as impressive as it may seem. Given how easy it was to win back then, he should have won it more times. Ajax and Bayern both 3-peated, which Paisley failed to do. Flipping Nottingham Forest won it twice.
He had no longevity either. For example, Mourinho’s 9-season stretch between 2003-2012 was far more impressive than Paisley’s run, but then Mourinho’s career tanked. Same likely would have happened to Bob.
The likes of Ferguson, Guardiola and Del Bosque are miles ahead of him.

Pathetic childish nonsense.
Even if he’d won nothing he was 10 times the man Mourinho was. He dedicated his entire career to LFC. (Apart from a few years when he was busy fighting for your freedom). For him it was all about the club and he had the class to quit at the top, leaving the team in good shape for his successor. Hate Liverpool if you like but Bob Paisley was universally respected.

I’d like to say my comment was in jest and tongue in cheek. I in no way, shape or form are in the same boat as liquid

No problem Nick. Anyone can see that.
Nothing to do with Bob but it reminds me a a Shanks quote when Celtic won the European Cup.
Shanks, to Stein, “Jock, you’re a legend”
They all were. I miss those days. (Not that I was born then)
