its not about the skill is it though, any even semi pro player could do the actual skill its more about the confidence/nerve of a player to try something that if it doesn't come off you'll look pretty silly

I'm talking penalties in general. Commentators often say a well struck shot that the keeper doesn't save is a brilliant penalty. It shouldn't be that hard for a regular penalty taker, although like I say the situation might be more high pressure compared to another.

same with 1on1s , if a player misses a chance its like the gk doesn't exist and he should score no matter what

Pretty much yeah. I suppose a 1 on 1 is a bit trickier to score from out of the 2 because you know you have to think more quickly about what you're going to do, but all fans will expect the best possible outcome from both.

Vidicshin would break their legs for showboating

What if the showboater is also the bonebreaker?

Skill wise, yes.

They are cheeky as fook though, that's what makes them great. Like the Pirlo one against Joe Hart, any pro footballer could do that but having the balls to do it in that situation and making Hart look like a total d!ck in the process was what made it great.

For those younger elements here the original was Valentin Panenka who did it at the 1976 EURO final for Czech v Germany, now that's having ba11s.
