Arsenal 1 United 3

I fully expected to lose this game
United have been playing really well and were
much better than us.

Their bubble will burst but not any time soon.

We simply have too many players who are not
fit to wear the Arsenal shirt.

We blow hot and cold and are inconsistent

Anyway we move on

Cardiff next

We played ok. Just the usual defensive lapses, and Man U were more clinical. The injuries damaged our momentum a bit. We had the chances to score more. A draw wouldn’t have been an unfair reflection.

Obviously disappointed, but I’m Not too bothered by the result. Their squad is stronger than ours and we have injuries. Hopefully we can forget about this, get a decent win against Cardiff to keep pressure on top 4 and make a good go of Europa. And hope Sokratis and kos are back soon!

Sokratis injury decided the game. Heads dropped then

One player gets injured and the team collapses, that's a sign of a serious weakness in the team. In 2006 (the last time we won at OT) Thierry was out injured but Adebayor stepped up and sank United. No excuses.

If i'm honest, we wern't impressive tonight for large parts of the game.

But we showed more fight, and determination to win that game along with some clinical finishing.

But the period in the game that stood out for me was the last 10-15 minutes where we controlled the game better and still pressing high. Yes we were in a comfortable winning position, but it's refreshing to see that again after such a long time it seems.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I still think the distinct lack of natural width in the side stifles us massively.

Players are forced to almost take turn drifting into positions they're not comfortable with. Aubameyang was acting as a make shift right winger in the first half, Lacazette was often playing in this position in the second half, and towards the end Guendozi was essentially drifting to the left to try and link up with Kolasinac, with Ramsey also often making runs from deep into the channels.

Iwobi is the only player we have who seems comfortable receiving the ball in these areas, and our lack of natural wide attackers makes us heavy reliant on our full-backs to stretch the opposition - which invariably leaves us vulnerable down the channels (or our central midfielders get forced to cover the channels and leave gaps through the centre).

I feel Emery should consider the possibility of recalling Reiss Nelson if there is such an option.
I'm not saying he's a world-class player, but he can definitely provide us with something different in the final third.

We have more injuries to defenders and yet we are
trying to get midfielders on loan.
Maybe try the lower leagues for a centre back on loan.
We may find another Rob Holding

You make a good point. Iwobi is our only natural winger. Using wingbacks is straining our limited defensive capabilities. But I'm not sure Nelson is the answer, I don't think he is ready for the PL yet.

We played pretty well, and showed some fight. Basically today showed we just don’t have the quality in the squad to win games like this. Until we bring more quality in the team, this will keep happening

Iwobi isn't a natural winger

So many of you are bipolar.

We beat Chelsea and the moaning stopped. We lose to Man Utd a few days later and a nervous breakdown follows.

Losing Sokratis changed the match. The two goals were down the defence losing its structure till we reorganised but the damage was done and the third goal was as a consequence of that.

We played very well. But like most games against top sides winning from behind is very very difficult.

We are lacking in quality
