Eight out of eight is better than anyone could have expected but even more importantly the difference in our attacking play is night and day. He's got our most gifted players playing the way they should and hasn't been afraid not to play big names such as Sanchez and Lukaku.
Even if we don't get top four or win a trophy I think he should be given the chance. If he can get a decent cb in the summer, someone for the rw and a possible upgrade on Matic, the way he has us playing there's no reason why he can't at least get us challenging with City and Liverpool.
A joy to watch us again after such a long time.
Does anyone think Ole shouldn't get the job

Don't think luck has got anything to do with it. Do you reckon fergie was quietly looking on without comment as a director at the club?
was he balls.
Think the appointment of Ole has a lot to do with Fergie, the timing of Mourinhos sacking too.

When I say lucked out I mean in that it has gone better than anyone could have hoped for. I accept the Fergie point though as it suddenly feels a lot more Fergie-esque.

The only other consideration, is one i hadnt really thought about untill after Rodgers, and that is: That the standing of the manager is important.
Rodgers had us playing good football, and had decent results, but we could NOT attract any of his first choice targets, not even the year we finished second, we were shopping and buying at best second and third choices, in the case of ballotelli, the club just felt it needed a striker and crapped up.
I would think that at this point, Solsjkaer will struggle to attract top players, but im not sure how well Poch will do in that area either.
a problem that could well be mitigated with a Highly recognised DoF
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Ole would be fine attracting players.
He's a club legend and I'm sure many would love to play under him at United. If they don't then they're not the right players for United anyway IMO. We need players hungry to play for United and if we are playing an attacking style we've more chance of getting players who want to play that way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As i said: we were under rodgers, good attacking football, and a decent squad, years of 2nd/3rd choices eroded our squad however, and i forgive you for being dismissive, i was untill Hodgson/Kenny/Rodgers always thinking prior that the club was more important, then the sudden ability to sign top players again under klopp having rescued us from rodgers we still only managed an 8th? place finish.
Salah, willian andLoic Remy were all more than happy to go sit the bench under mourinho than play for rodgers
Alexis Sanchez chose wenger and london over rodgers and liverpool
Mykhitarian preferred Klopp and dortmund, despite us offering higher wages
Sigurdsson preferred AVB at spurs to Rodgers, AVB being a manager of some standing at the time!
And many others.

BTW its the most easiest decision to get OGS in as the manager even if we have to pay Molde to get him.
When you look at it, its incredible how bad a job Mourinho did this season. Those late winners saved it from even looking even more terrible.

Fair points but what I think goes in Ole's favour is that he's a club legend and is also at a club which is willing to pay top dollar. He may not have the pulling power of a Pep, Klopp or even Jose but, to be honest, that may not be a bad thing. Under SAF our best signings seemed to be ones that weren't already stars (he'd have signed Mane for example IMO) so if we go down that route so be it. We'll wait and see anyway. Believe me after the misery of Jose's last few months he's a breath of very fresh air and long may it continue!

You are all dancing now But Ole if u offer him full time u go downhill. The only reason your on form now is that your players downed tools and plus Mourinhos attitude. It could of been one of you lot and they would of started to play well. It hurts me to even say this but If Poch becomes manager he take you back to winning the league.

blav23 potless Poch to take us back to winning the league. Did you see how awful they were in both games against Chelsea? There defence is wide open in many games this season. Poch is a manager that scrapes top 4.

Based on what?

One potential reason not to wait until the end of the season is transfer targets. Waiting until the summer would put us behind in that sense.
Also fair to say that some certainty might also help with player contracts.

A club legend for sure, But whats his reputation outside norway and england?
Or to players under a certain age.
Thats my worry for you, but im glad you are back to good football, honestly hope to never see mourinho in the PL again.
