He has flopped horribly at Monaco

everyone at Monaco has flopped this season.

Monaco sold a lot of first teamers didn't replace them well and have an injury crisis that makes Tottenham's and Arsenal's look minor. Wrong job for Henry to take on. They've rehire Jardim but they may end up going down anyway. This stint is worse than Neville at Valencia. Both wrong jobs for each man for different reasons.

That’s true. It’s more the fact that he’s a youngster that went there with a LOT of hype and has looked very average from day one. But maybe he will deliver in the PL, who knows?

My only concern in this is memory of what happened with Matt Oakley and Steve Howard. (I now we're talking different talent levels here but it's all relative.) When they first arrived, they'd been playing in such a bad Derby side that it was impossible to raise their confidence to perform for the rest of the season. And these were experienced players moving into a league they knew they could perform in.

If Tielemans does come here, he'd be a player who knows he's out of form this season, playing in an unknown league and likely next to Ndidi - who is himself talented but inexperienced and out of form. It's a big ask and I doubt we'd see the best of him.

That's not to say that this is a bad idea, since Silva clearly isn't going to play for us for whatever reason so we might as well at least try to get our foot in the door with this lad. But I'd just seek to temper expectations.

Haha – completely contradicts what Puel was quoted as saying in yesterdays Grauniad – that Tielemans is very talented, but it's all rumours and speculation. Also that he's happy with his midfield and anyway, he's got Adrien Silva who be important for the rest of the season.
