PERFECT To Make A Harsh Example Of

Millwall FC is and always has been (in my 40some years at least) English football's flagship club for hooliganism, violence and racism. Though all clubs have had the same problems to some extent, Millwall appears to be the only one where the disgraceful fans heavily outnumber the decent ones.

Once again here we are after Millwall fans have yet again been racist thugs. This after a series of less serious racial incidents around football have occurred, with no major penalty for the clubs. In the racist emboldened Brexit frenzy of the moment, it is no surprise to see racist thug fans, thinking they can again behave like this freely.

Brexit fury is only going to escalate and it WILL spill into stadiums on match days. Football (PL especially) needs to do something fast. Millwall's timing is somewhat impeccable in this regard. That foul club's history/form for racism and thuggery, makes them the perfect club to slam hard. Sending all other clubs the firm message "This will not be tolerated any longer!"

A penalty that would make many racist thugs, keep it to thier living rooms and "Racist thug pub" rants:

£1,000,000.00 fine for the club (to go to a charity for victims of racial attacks).

Millwall FC docked a whopping 31 points in the league, leaving them 20 off bottom spot, guaranteeing relegation

Doesn't get much more "This will not be tolerated any longer!" than that. Would certainly make every other club buck the fan base's ideas up sharpish. Also serves to protect the EPL brand if the FA is seen to be incredibly harsh on clubs whose fan bases are thug littered.

Does victims of racial attacks include all races?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. According to lefties like the OP, minorities cant commit racism because their ancestors may have been victims of racism in the past. Likewise, woman cant be sexist because women have been victims of sexism in the past. For example, I have had 5 times I was told by the hiring manager or another manager that I was not given a promotion because they had been told to give it to a woman. That is positive discrimination apparently and not that I was being discriminated against for being a white man. My view is we will never get rid of discrimination until everyone is treated exactly the same whatever their gender, race, colour, etc. That means no discrimination by anyone and no treating anyone different because of who/what they are.

It should be if a white person calls a black person something or a black person calls a white person something is treated exactly the same. Or the same with a man or woman. That is not the case in this country at the moment, in fact far from it. Discrimination is actively ENCOURAGED under the name of positive discrimination. All discimination creates animosity and division in society however they try to justify it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Certainly not what I said. I don't agree with anyone beating anyone up or abusing anybody over their colour or creed. Black abusing white, for being white, is just as unacceptable.

However since there's no majority black football crowds in any UK major FC stadium chanting racial abuse and behaving like or tolerating Millwall fans, it's a moot point and your argument just seems kinda pedantic. Not to mention making you come across as racist. It's the type of argument racists will use to justify or excuse their disgusting behaviour.

I don't think Millwall football club as a private entity encourages this sort of shiiit.

Punishing Millwall FC for the behaviour of few idiots is a bit like punishing your entire neighborhood for a break-in one of the houses👍
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Encourage no. Not do an awful lot about discouraging, definitely.

Any investor in Millwall would be wholly aware of the racist thug problem they have. More to the point, aware of the fact the club is synonymous with racist thugs. Unless you have a vested interest in protecting/appeasing racist thugs, there's no way you wouldn't weed out more than the club have. Private money is almost certainly financing some Millwall thugs.

You have to remember, not every rampant racist with an agenda, is a tattooed, skinhead looking, EDL thug. There's PLENTY of clean cut, rich, educated boardroom suits who would happily sit clinking and drinking with said thugs, when noone from work is watching.

Fines alone never work because the club become a filter, meaning those who are really to blame aren’t actually directly punished financially.

Making them play behind closed doors for the remainder of the season would be a much more effective solution.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that could work. The fine as I wanted it is for the club. For not having done more to get rid of these people. They still have far far too many. Given the reputation for racism the have/had. I'd pretty much expect that club to now be one of the country's flagship clubs in dealing harshly which such fans. You'd think it'd be the first thing on the agenda for any investor, with the club only be now, one good season from PL football. Apparently not though. Seems at Millwall they still have a huge problem to everyone else's relatively small one.

I wanted the huge points dock and relegation to punish everyone at the club. The thugs for their behaviour and all the non thugs whom have continued to tolerate said thugs being allowed at the supposedly beloved club. Have to remember, people like this can only do what they do because it is being tolerates by the people who don't do agree/with it.

Millwall's racist thug brand should be long dead in the modern game. It won't die so let's kill it.

Investors don't have moral values...if they do, no one would be investing in gambling firms for example.

The only ways to stop these things are enforcing lifelong bans.

They have financial interests though. The apparent sacrificing of those by doing what appears to be nothing, to root these people out of the club to clean up it's image. That says to me passionately like minded investors, happy to take the financial hit. Considering it a chump change fee to pay to have a club near (soon possibly in) the PL, whilst still seen as being synonymous with racism and thuggery.

You could pluck individual idiots from any club. Not what this is about. It's about Millwall in particular having by far the worst reputation and past for racism. And how that makes them the perfect club to slam with the worst club punishment in English footy history, for racism. Millwall needs to be made English football's racism cautionary tale and warning to ALL clubs and their fans. Maybe then this kinda crap will stop. We can't fix racism quickly but hell we can make racist football fans pay attention and shut their racist little mouths at matches, except for cheering their team.

I know what its about, but your OP is subjective about your view on throwing the book at Millwall because some of their fans who chose to affiliate themselves with the club act is a horrendous and totally unacceptable way.

Having someone our club has chosen to affiliate themselves with and make an official club ambassador making those despicable comments is also completely unacceptable, but with that the club has to take some responsibility as they have appointed that person to represent the club. Thats why I said maybe Arsenal should be made an example of. Its a subjective view that I used to make a point that if you want to make an example of one club you need to consider if other clubs could warran that as well and there is an argument that we could be that club. I expect we will be hearing that she has been sacked as an ambassador soon, but if not there is definitely a case for us to answer as well.

You throw the book at Millwall because they have more form than anyone else, firstly. Secondly and far more importantly, every other club, Arsenal FC especially, has worked hard toward getting rid of these people or at least forcing them to behave.

Even Chelsea make sure they're seen to act swiftly and harshly against any fans involved in major incidents. At least attempting to deal with the issue. Though I live in Stoke, I'm from S. London and still have plenty of family and friends there. Millwall has not changed much at all in regard to openly racist fans. They still feel they can say whatever they like and beat up anyone who says they can't/shouldn't.
