What a laugh

Quote from Millwall Chief Executive Steve Kavanagh : -

"If you think you can come to Millwall and chant racism, no you can't. This is a safe place to come," he said. (BBC website)

Yes you can because you did, and no it isn't. Ask the Everton fan who had his face slashed.

He also said, "If a person has gone and bought a top that says Millwall, does that make me responsible for that person? Or is society responsible for them?"

Paradoxically, on the topic of "spygate" he has this to say, “It is disrespectful by a manager and you can’t distance your actions from the club".

He also said, “I see the club have come out and reminded him [Bielsa] that he needs to respect the name of Leeds. That’s not good enough – he is the club. He is risking the reputation of Leeds and dragging the name of the football club into disrepute".

At least Bielsa came clean and didn't attempt to deflect responsibility. Kavanagh's take on last weekend's events involving his own club don't read in the same way.

As for Neil Harris, I don't hear him gobbing off, condemning the violent behaviour of his own fans, and yet he was quick to criticise Bielsa for having a staff member watch a training session through a transparent wire fence from a public road : -

“In all my years in football I have never seen anything like it," said the Lions boss. "I think it is completely disrespectful to other teams and the spirit of the game in this country". Completely ridiculous and over-the-top statement by an idiot with blinkers on. What about the violence and thuggery of your own fans, Harris? That OK is it?

Millwall don't enjoy the best reputation in the football world, and I'm not going to pretend that we've been whiter than white in the past, but their standing is far from enhanced by the pronouncements of these two hypocrites.

What a laugh.

While I don't agree with them over Bielsa, There is a difference between a fan and an employee.

They as a club do have a responsibility in weeding out these types of fans, giving life bans to them. That's as much as they can do when it comes to who they let in to the stadium. They can do more such as workshops in the community against such things. They should be wor with groups like Kick it out.

They should also acknowledge that they do have an issue with this amongst their fanbase. Denying it won't change it nor the perception of it.

“this ruling is that it clarifies the fact that the term 'P*ki' is racist under the terms of the Act and anyone else who uses it in a chant at football matches will be found guilty."

CPS quote. June 2003.

Let’s see whether anyone can be bothered to try and arrest the 50-100 blatantly guilty, eh?

Harris complained or morals and fair play and was then a few days later trying to stop tv from showing replay of the potential handball goal v Everton.

I'm sorry Harrogate - I really take offence at you calling him that.
There are many rodents out there that are struggling with their self-esteem and for you to compare them with such an ugly individual does them no favours at all!
