Llorente

Some encouraging signs from him last night, as well as some shocking stuff. But with 2 very good headed goals now in 3 games, I think we're seeing the benefit of him getting a run of games together, as you might expect, and is starting to become the 11th man in this side which he wasn't before.

In spite of the fact he's never going to be a proper replacement for Kane, we are going to have to make do with him until Kane returns, and there will be much tougher tests than Watford to come. I really hope therefore that Poch is drilling into the players the importance of a good cross, because ours were pretty rubbish last night. Same with the set piece delivery which I'm not actually convinced we practice. I'll never understand how Eriksen can land a ball on a sixpence from 30 yards, and at the same time hit a first man so often. Anyway....

May Llorente's rebirth continue.

Llorente is doing OK, he missed an absolute sitter, but has scored a few goals already this calendar year 2019, so cannot fault him really. He needs decent balls on his head that much is certain, and most of the players Spurs have are woeful at crossing, especially our full backs. Corners as well are pretty awful.

Hengy, so would I, but as we know that's not going to happen until next summer so we will have him for this run of games coming up presumably.

He'll need to be better by the time we play Dortmund.

Trippier's crossing isn't so bad?

I was really unhappy at our attempts to cross last night. Corners and balls in were mostly very poor. As for Llorente up until the 86th minute I was wondering what we did to deserve him then bang, a great header and broken hearts at Watford. Downside is teams might now mark him, up until recently they've left him on his own knowing he'll row Z it
All we need now is for his feet to work and he could make double figures!!!

It is poor, as are all our other fullbacks. Myth that Trippier can cross a decent ball, he does it 1 in 10.

The Chelsea FA Cup Semi final was where it got painfully shown up. We had 11 corners and didn't get close, they had 1 and scored from it.

As for Llorente I think his hold up play and touch have improved as you would expect with a run in the team. However long term he isn't the answer, whatever Janssen has done to p1ss off Poch it must of been bad.

Eriksen gets a very easy ride regarding the standard of his corners, with Dier, Verts and Toby in the team we should score far more goals from set pieces than we do.

Lamela takes a much better corner than Eriksen!

I know what you mean. His delivery is overrated, and his free kicks are not the threat they used to be, when going for goal. Hasn't scored one since 2015 and he used to be the best FK taker in the league. Makes you wonder if he bothers practicing.

I think I remember him saying he does not practice freekicks .
Don't think we practice taking corners or defending corners

Llorente is clearly past it BUT he can be useful if we play to his strengths. (as soon with his Watford and Chelsea goals)

there is no point interacting with him like we do with Kane, because he doesn't have the ability, but if you can whip the crosses in then he will be a threat !

How can you not even practice them though when you're supposed to be the main FK taker?

They might seem similar skills, but delivering a set ball into a crowded box with the right pace, precision and swerve on it is quite different to playing a 30-yard ball into a runner's path, or even onto a standing man's foot.
