Cut Llorente Some Slack

We all agree that for the most part, Llorente has been poor during his time at Spurs, but the below articles helps me to sympathise with him.

Even if he has been poor, he's been completely professional and in his defence, I doubt he's even started two consecutive games before Kane's most recent injury. Playing second fiddle to Harry Kane has to be quite disheartening at times.

It goes without saying that you only really see the best in players when they're giving a run of games, which he's never had.

I must say I was cursing him when he missed that sitter.

He needs support though, he's barely played since he joined Spurs (mainly due to how good Kane is) so it's understandable he's rusty.

we have no other option but to get behind him, he is gonna play, and even though he lacks quality its not lack of effort, therefore if hes in a spurs shirt I will back him. if he scores a few more late winners that would do nicely.

You look at his recent goals, a towering header against Watford and a stooping header against Chelsea after a good delivery from out wide, that’s what he thrives on IMO. To get the best out of him get it in the box from wide positions.

Although Morata struggled at Chelsea I did feel sorry for him, you look at a compilation of his goals while at the club and a lot of them are headers from crosses, but rather than play to the strenghs of the CF, they cut inside and shoot or tippy-tap it around in midfield, no chance for Morata with those tactics.

We don`t play enough to his strengths, he is not a bad player if used correctly, he needs a run of games and he will progressively improve.

He should have been kept more in the loop when Kane was fit, 15 - 20 mins from the bench here and there when games are out of sight, instead of playing Kane for 90 mins so he can hit his goal bonus and win the golden boot.

Had Llorente been given more minutes he would be more likely up to speed when needed.

He has my support 100 per cent now. He scored what could probably just about be the most important goal of Spurs season, the way the games panned out midweek.

He obviously was once a very classy player, age is catching up with him now, but he still has some decent touches. He has scored what five goals this January in various competitions, so how bad is that.

I thought Llorente played very well from the get go yesterday. He has a lot of tricky moves, back heel passes etc., and is willing to get stuck in.
I give him top marks for attitude, given how he has been treated, pretty much as a 85 minute walk on.
And also he kept on trying after that dreadful knee over the bar miss. A lot of players would have given up after a blunder like that!
He's a presence in the penalty area - as his header showed.
If only he could run faster!

Pretty obvious he needs game time to get up to speed. Technically not a bad player with good hold up play. He just needs game time.
We all know he is no messi but we have too many fans who are quick to dismiss him.
