Don’t think Depay is the right player.

We need someone who can beat people, create their own chances and do something different.

I understand the concerns about Zaha stepping up to a bigger club, but he’s a much better player now than he used to be and the circumstances with which he was with us were pretty bad. Signed by Fergie, who left, and then had the Moyes horror show to contend with. He lost a good bit of his development during that period. His ability to operate across the frontline would be a nice fit with the way Ole has up set up, too.

I wouldn’t be against Zaha tbf. But think he would have been a better replacement for Martial (and imo a better player) has he left

Yes that's obviously something to consider with Zaha Darren.

You'd think though as comfortable as he may be in London and at Palace, he would still have some sort of a desire to prove himself at a higher level.

He's a good bit older and more mature now so a move to somewhere else at this stage might not phase him as much.

He's said it himself he didn't really know what to expect or how to behave when he first arrived at United.

I don't think Depay ever plays from the right either. He's played a lot for Lyon up front.

Schlupp usually plays on the left. Zaha has played there this season, though. When he’s through the middle he drifts around the pitch but usually over to the left where he’s more comfortable. All his best moments I’ve seen have come when he’s picked the ball up in the left hand channel and driven towards the goal. With this in mind also, as well as my other reservations, I don’t think it solves our issues on the right as he doesn’t really excel there.

CB is the major priority. You could argue for CM, RW or FB(s), as the second most.

Personally, after CB I do see a DM and RB as major issues. Fred, I'll be willing to give some time as he probably will need it. If he's still as is or not much better, we'd have to cut our losses.

Dalot and Young can both cover LB so that's not such a major issue yet. Shaw has improved but he isn't a natural attacking FB that modern games use and needs to be an area he works on. If he could reach anywhere close to. Gary Neville's level then it would have worked out well.

DM and RW is more important than another LB.

Four signings CB, DM, RB and RW. Think if we can get the right players and they slot in, we would be challenging for a title next season. It's not impossible seeing how the league has gone the past few seasons.

Neither Zaha nor Depay solve the issue of the RWF position. They can play there, but we'll end up in the same situation we've had with Sanchez. A player we thought would be used on the right but has hardly ever played there for us. Because he is best in a LWF role. Depay is playing more as a striker and Zaha as a LWF than on the right. We need to look for people who play there and play well there.

I do not think it's as big an issue as the other positions that need fixing. If we have the right RB in, that would fix part of the problem. Many teams use their FBs for width.

Whilst I agree, this still leaves us extremely short in midfield. Outside of the three starters we have zero quality backup.
