New Signing.....

As we got done over by Swansea for James and most people think we needed to sign a replacement for Saiz, can we all just pause a min and introduce Izzy Brown who should be ready for first team football now?

He is like a new signing for us, can he stay fit, while he has played a few U23s games and come out of them OK so here is hoping he can come into the first team and get us over the line to the Prem!

Or more cryptically, that he is fit but he needs more time to get his playing skills back. Rob Price, our medical chief, was slightly more pointed about it, suggesting that Brown is not showing the right mental attitude. My view is that another 2-3 weeks wait will be worth it if we get a classy player for the run in, but will he be too late to make an impact?

Agreed it is dragging on too long & won't even make the match day squad at this rate only 17 games to go.

Swansea stuffed us at last minute. Never heard anything like it. Ridiculous

Agree - I've never heard of any action so cowardly or unprofessional as a club "not picking the phone up" whilst their player sits at another club for 4 hours waiting to secure his future.

Swansea have shown themselves up terribly and I don't think we should complain about our side of the bargaining - we did everything we needed to within the time needed.

Exactly! Swansea to blame in all this and now they have to live with the consequences.

Those saying we should have had a plan B obviously don’t listen to MB. He’s said all along that he will only sign players that can improve the squad and we all know any player has to be affordable and within our budget.

So I guess there just wasn’t the player out there for him that fitted that criteria.

Better than spending millions of borrowed money on the likes of Robbie Fowler - only to find out we are buggered financially if we don’t go up.

I’d love the club to be able to afford to buy any player they wish but we are where we are and we just have to live with it.

So no other player except James would have improved the squad....

Yeah I'm sure Messi would have.

to be fair MB had a huge file on James, and he was the target.. whilst I'm super disapointed and I'm glad we didn;t go for a 2nd choice. lets not forget at the start of the season many were disgusted at the fact that we were going for "2nd choices".

gutted about James, where ever the blame lies here, its over, now lets get this league won lads eh?

i'm not sure our club did a lot wrong in all this. Seems to have been an in house disagreement down in the Valleys. No reason to believe the deal, for the preferred target, wasn't progressing. Lad was sat at ER waiting to be unveiled, what back up option did we truly need to go for?

We're all disappointed with how things have panned out, but now I've read a bit more this morning, i'm not convinced anyone from with LUFC have done a right lot wrong with this.

agree VOF - a very disappointing outcome all the same

It is.

It's also pretty disrespectful for Swansea, as a club, to leave there own player sat up in Leeds, knowing they weren't going to sanction or acknowledge the move.

Declining the offer if they found they no longer needed to sell him, whilst frustrating from a Leeds perspective, would have been a professional and reasonable way to conduct things.

A pretty disgusting way to treat a player you supposedly value. Be interesting to see how he performs in the coming weeks/months.
