Most placid dog I've ever known belonged to an old school friend, it was huge, an Irish Wolfhound called Blue due to it's blue/grey colour, you could literally do anything to it and it wouldn't ever show its teeth

I don't want to throw a spanner in the works here butI've got nothing against dogs as much as I do their owners. I don't think it's particularly fair that those of us that don't own dogs have to put up with them roaming all over the place, barking like crazy and cr@pping everywhere. Some dog owners think that just because they enter a park, for instance, it's totally fine for their pitbull to be taken off it's lead and have a run around. It's not. They should always be on a lead and should always have an owner directly behind them picking up their mess. It doesn't always happen. The usual excuse is "don't worry, he won't bite". So annoying!

So I don't see anything from Sandy ....he probably doesn't have a dog.
Mine was a Golden Retriever named Rufus. He was a son of a USA National field champion named Reddy of Sacramento.
I started training him for field work, but its a lot of time...which I didn;t have. Goldens are everybody's friend and he would wander off across town quite regularly to visit my friends. RIP

Never had one.
If all the money spent on dog food and other pets in UK and Europe was collected instead, you could feed several million starving people.

I have already commented Ted to say I have never had a dog. Well I did own several greyhounds, but they were never kept at home. They were kennelled.
