United v Morton

What a difference in a football team. A fantastic first half performance, saw the new look terrors create chance after chance, play some great football.

The crowd were up for it as RN rang the changes with maximum effect. It was, without a doubt, the best performance of the season. Harkes and Pawlett were, for me, the standouts. That said, the whole side looked hungry, and should have been out of sight, in the first half. The energy levels dropped a bit in the second half, which made the last 20 mins a little uncomfortable. That should improve over the next couple of weeks though, with the team gelling and fitness levels getting higher.

A bold move by the gaffer, with 6 changes to the starting 11. Great to see and it worked beautifully.

I did feel a bit for Fyvie as we know how good he can be. He did nearly blow it for us, with 2 horrible passes, one which resulted in a goal, which started the sweaty palms. I think though, once he gets back to full fitness, he'll be a valuable member of the squad.

Looking forward to the cup next week, and would be great if we get through. It's another chance however, to have the players work together, in preparation for the battle to come. Once Sow gets his first touch sorted out, he'll definitely swell the onion bag. A lot more optimistic for the challenge.
