Lucky we have a lot of poor teams to play

Obviously we can never say how many points are needed to go up but if you get 85+, you will be in with a good shout of automatic promotion. Norwich showed us up last night, took advantage of our mistakes and got a bit of luck with it too. But they have better players than us. Their wingers were a step above ours, not every team we play has their quality.

Home games:
Swansea
Bolton
Millwall
Sheffield Wednesday
Wigan

Away games:
QPR
Reading
Preston
Ipswich

That's 27 points up for grabs against teams that are in the bottom half of the table, not to mention very winnable games against Birmingham, Bristol, Brentford, Villa. And we can't say what will happen against Boro, Sheff Utd, West Brom.

Games against your rivals hurt because it feels like a comparison of your quality and where you are. They don't define a season though - we were truly humbled by West Brom and won 7 in a row. This slump at the moment is more concerning but we still have the quality to pull this off.

Rather play middle table teams than bottom at this stage

At the moment we are getting the results teams at the bottom are getting, so on essence they are games on an equal footing.

Come on, it's not that bad, Mike

Rather play Notts Forest or Swansea than Bolton or Ipswich or if we were in the Premier League, Bournemouth or Leicester than Fulham or Huddersfield.
Not sure that really makes sense.
If our next six fixtures were the bottom six teams i.e. the teams really in a dog fight, I would be happy, teams are where they are for a reason and yes some of them are going to put up more of a struggle than others but by and large they will average the same amount of points they have done to date up to the end of the season.
The teams I would prefer not to be playing at this stage of the season are the in form teams pressing for top six.
"I would rather not be playing teams fighting for their life" is a tired cliche.
That said, I would like to play Swansea week in, week out at the moment, I reckon because of what's gone on there, they are about to go into melt down, unhappy players will spread locker room unrest.

Well Ipswich will be down by time we play them, although we will be preparing for the playoffs

Ipswich will be down by then, basically are already.

Bolton seem to have little fight about them, fans and owner clashing and players went unpaid at one point. Not a club that seem to be fighting for their lives.

The clubs at the bottom are there for a reason and Norwich and Sheff United have to contend with teams fighting for their lives too when they play them. I'd rather play Reading or Bolton than Villa who are midtable or QPR.

That's exactly what I mean Best, people come out with tired old cliches like I would rather be playing those who have nothing to play for this time of year than those scrapping for their lives but teams are where they are for a reason form changes in the short term but more often than not teams down the bottom mid-season are more than likely to continue in the same vein towards the end of the season.
Likes of Bolton, Ipswich etc have a lot to play for sure but so does every team, more so those teams who are in the hunt for promotion.
Our issue isn't the ability of the teams we play but our own ability, if we are truly good enough for promotion we will get there regardless of who we play, top, middle or bottom.

It's whether we have the bottle. I believe the individual errors are down to pressure and nerves.

Exactly, Peakwhite. This league is all about mentality. We have the skills. We just need to be brave, to play our football, believe in ourselves, and show more desire than the rest. It's all in the head.

Under the radar - just how we like it. Nobody’s noticed the form table!!!
Tiny mention in the press this weekend too - and on the EFL on Quest
We are unnoticed and deemed as ‘winnable’ (all games in this league are winnable)
You guys could possibly be about to implode like we did last year? Maybe, maybe not - but we are having a great time at AG right now!!!

Sorry - I meant to add that I’m not trying to snipe at you guys - just remembering that last year we were second in the table and beating Man U in the cup. That bubble burst and we basically shot our bolt at Christmas - ending up 11th in the end.
