Ian Holloway

Anyone watching GoS this morning? Ian Holloway is on top form.

On his highlights of his '10 in 10' coach tour for Sky:

"It was alright apart from having to put your hand up when you wanted to use the bathroom... Although one day we stopped at this pub, the lads were hungry so I asked if they did food. "No," he said, "but you can order in." So we ordered take away and ate it in the pub. Brilliant!"

On approaching 1,000 league games as a manager (he's at 950-something):

"Yeah, of course it's a target... I might need another six jobs to do it though."

On the prospect of managing abroad:

"Funnily enough, someone got in touch about managing a national team the other day... Hong Kong. I thought, "The food would be fantastic!""

Also started talking about how defending set pieces was like Strictly Come Dancing. "When the music starts, you have to move!"

Also said he received a letter from the Ref's Association after Blackpool got relegated (by a point on the last day of the season) that apologised for mistakes through the term that had cost Blackpool nine points, and that said that video footage of the incidents was being used to help train/re-train their members

He says he still has the letter. Incredible if true.

"Peter Crouch, he's so much more than a head on a stick."

A head on 2 sticks?

This guy is what is wrong with English managers and coaches. Hating on foreign managers, talking in riddles and clichés and give no insight in the tactical side of the game.

Telling made up stories to stay in the media and spotlight. This guy is your typical English coach and manager.

Holloway did take Leicester down to the old third division albeit, I think he joined a sinking ship? So he is not flavour of the month around there!
