The problem against Norwich and the problem we have had for a long time is sloppiness. Individual errors from Pontus, Foreshaw, Douglas cost us massively and this keeps happening.
I don't think it's down to a lack of ability. It appears to be complacency setting in and lack of concentration. This needs to serve as a huge wake up call.
While it's great to be playing out from the back it needs to be carried out with utmost concentration because of the risks associated.
The sooner we can get Bamford into the side the better. Not because Roofe has done anything wrong, but Bamford's height will give us a target in the box when we are struggling to find space around the fringes of the area. He needs to be fully fit first though to start.
Was discussed by a few on here before the game, and in hindsight we probably should have played Phillips with Foreshaw and Klich just to ensure that we have another player sitting a bit deeper. First priority has to be to get some clean sheets.

Actually, Forshaw for Roberts and play Pablo from the right.

I like that apart from Ayling. No, no, no! Shack iuntil we get Berra back and not sure Bamford is fit enough yet.

Maybe Shack is a tad too small for Boro game? Might have to go with Ayling after all for his height but he has too many errors to his game at present for my liking

The way the team is playing (which we're all loving) is high risk. So when a pass goes astray at the back, we're in trouble and the opposition gets a clear-cut chance.
Meanwhile at the other end we have lots of possession, lots of pressure, and lots of attempts on goal - but they're speculative attempts from outside the box as our opponents defend deep.
Mistakes are being made because the players are only borderline good enough to play this way. As individuals they're nothing special - they're the same players from last season.
Second half Norwich battered us, as they pressed hard, and our players weren't good enough to play the way they've been instructed.

This is a nicely balanced team, and carries a lot more threat up front. I hope we have Brown on the bench, and Clarke to come on when Bamford tires. If we are winning 1-0 with time running out, Foreshaw would be a good option to tighten us up at the back.

With the following bench that looks promising:
BPF, Shack, Davis/Douglas, Forshaw, Harrison, Clarke, Brown

For me Ayling needs dropping, he has not had a good game for a long time, He gives us height though, which is needed if Alioski is at LB.
I’d play Ayling against Boro purely for his height then I’d drop him.
