Some old memories, the good, the bad

It's always the same, the noise doesn't seem to transmit to the opposite ends of the ground.

There's only been two sets of supporters I've witnessed were I was really impressed with the noise!

No point in asking you to guess because you'd never get them but one was Apoel Nicosia of Cyprus and the other FC Copenhagen.

It was a bit surreal against Copenhagen, they were insulting us in English with Danish accents!

The noise both of those was unreal though!

The noise definitely doesn't travel. I heard some of the Wednesday songs but not the one Kitty described although I don't doubt that they were singing it.

When we played Spurs in the battle of the Bridge in 2016 the atmosphere was electric but in truth both sides couldn't here the other at full volume coz it just doesn't travel. We were very loud that night but they said that they couldn't here us that loudly and it was the same with them, but we all know that both sides were well up for it. My son Chris loved the atmosphere and it was almost as hostile as the old days.

I would only have been about 12 when that was filmed so probably having a crafty snout near the Bovril gate.

Brummie, I enjoyed all the 1970s and 1980s. What I hated though was all the hooliganism that followed the game around and nearly brought it to its knees. Hopefully we never go back to those days.

Hard to believe that when I first started to go in the late 1950s, when home and away fans mingled together at games with no problems, a decade on supporters were going to have to be segregated. Not sure where it all went wrong.
