What is Fred for?

....and does he have any future?

It seems to me that Ole, Carrick and Micky can't have seen anything in him. Doesn't come on off the bench. Didn't get a look in versus Burnley, when we rested players, after the Fellaini sale.

What's the point in keeping a player and watching his value drop if he's not even at the races?

Has Garner even met the first team? Not seen if he's been brought into training in the way that Gomes and Chong have done a few times.

He's made the bench a few times and does train with the first team, I'm sure he does anyway

It’s good that Ole has a midfield he can trust, but their minutes need managing if we aren’t to burn out - though that could be the case anyway even if they are getting some rest, we’ve seen signs of it already.

Why did we sign Fred? Not why did Mourinho want him, but why did the board pay for him and then not for a CB? A midfielder - whatever type Fred may be - was not as much of a priority as CB and at least one other position, so why stump up £50m and the rest?

SE85 last time you brought this out I wrote a longish post about why you ought to step back and think about what your logic and whether you really want to go there. You never responded - would be grateful if you read it. It's on this page: http://www.ja606.co.uk/comments/viewAllComments/402318/5#C20508954

Unfortunately, you will find that his throwaway comments are exactly just that. The guy has shown and proven that he has no particular knowledge of football itself, lest the history of Manchester United.
