Saiz left Leeds in December 17th to join Getafe on loan.
Below, are the results Leeds have achieved in the league since he left.
Aston Villa 2 - 3 Leeds
Leeds 3 - 2 Blackburn
Leeds 0 - 2 Hull
Nottingham Forest - 4 - Leeds 2
Leeds 2 - 0 Derby
Stoke 2 -1 Leeds
Rotherham 1 - 2 Leeds
Leeds 1 - 3 Norwich
You don’t get many games like the Villa and Blackburn matches, we could easily have lost either of those. Rotherham was a game we won thanks to the keeper.
Have we played well since Saiz left? I’d say Derby and Forest (in the main) were good performances. Second half against Villa too. 3/8 at most.
Why oh why did the club not replace him in the January window. Haven’t played anywhere near as well with Saiz and Phillips missing from the midfield.
Playing well?

The only thing we are missing is a replacement for Saiz. Phillips at CB workedSame as playing BPF in goal & Barra at CB & Alioski at LB
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He played well at centre back, not disputing that.
But having Forshaw in midfield instead of him weakens our team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What games have we lost with Philips & CB & Forshaw in CM?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’ve lost 4 of the last 6, with Forshaw in the middle instead of Phillips.
I’m saying that we’re a worse team with Forshaw in the middle. That we played our best stuff this season when Forshaw was injured, and Phillips was there.
Do you disagree?

Ridiculous to blame an individual player for poor form of the team....
Forshaw opens up the play, his passing is usually accurate, especially long balls, his long passing is his best attribute, he broke up the opponents play quite readily...his temperament is sound, prone to make mistakes, can be inconsistent ..like most of his team mates.
Saiz generally found congestion, held the ball too long, tried to beat too many players, lost the ball too many times, his passing eventually after a good start wasn't accurate enough...his tackling was poor, prone to foul, lacked discipline, gave too many free kicks away, unnecessary....his temperament was suspect...
Bielsa I suspect recognised his early season form dropped off quite dramatically, he dropped him!

Are you saying Forshaw is a better footballer than Saiz?

Phillips has been consistent all season. Forshaw, who I have no issue with, is in because kalvin covered defence when needed & then got suspended. If both fit & available Phillips starts every time based on this seasons evidence.
He was consistently the rock our attacking play was based on. Get him back in against Boro 👍🏽👍🏽

They're different types...Forshaw more of a utility player, limited but good sound temperament, he fulfills a certain job, breaking up play and doing what the manager/coach instructs him to do...
Saiz, on form is a good ball player, not on form is a liability, temperament is suspect, causes frustration among his team mates and coach...why did he lose form after a bright start? His erratic temperament in a long English winter got the better of him? He tired badly after a number of games and couldn't handle the expectation of coach, players and fans?
Did Bielsa think Saiz, Alioski and Hernandez were too much alike in style, in attacking play, one had to be jettisoned?
Saiz the better footballer on form...Forshaw usually more reliable at the present time for Leeds.
