Amazing that under LVG and Jose that they just couldn't get the best out of him and he often didn't get a look in. I thought it was on Ander that he just never took any risks. Always passed to the side, always went safe, never tried to beat a man
but now under Ole it's the complete opposite. Since Ole took over Herrera completely transformed he's looking forward far more and is willing to take a chance when on the ball to try go past a man.
He's one of the only players in our team that does the dirty stuff too and he never stops running. For me he's become a pivotal player and we really need to get him to sign a contract. He's the best captain material at our club in my eyes.

It'll be interesting to see what we do with the midfield in the summer because we're short of reliable cover for Matic or a better more mobile holding player, whatever way you want to look at it and we're still lacking a bit of craft and ingenuity too.
There could be a decision to make with Fred if he's still not showing any signs of improvement and settling come the end of the season however I'd tend to give him the benefit of the doubt seeing as it's his first season and plenty of players struggle to adapt at new clubs initially.
There are players coming through who should be given a chance but whether they can adapt or not remains to be seen. Even if one or two of them do, we could still do with bringing somebody in tbh because I'd say there'll be one or two leaving, possibly more if you count any loan deals.
It all depends on who the manager is and what his plans are though, obviously.

Agree Re Matic. Got to say I was seriously impressed by Declan Rice both last night and against arsenal. Should be looking at him as a long term solution to that position IMO.

Yeah I've seen Rice a few times now and he does look quite accomplished defensively for his age.
