Ravel Morrison close to joining Ostersund

He had a decent loan from the little I read about his stay in Mexico and now he's going to a Swedish side called Ostersund.

It also turns out he's an Arsenal fan. That explains why he's such a .

Joking aside, he's 26 now so let's hour he sorted himself out.

Quotes:

“I’ve come here to rebuild myself really," the 26-year-old told Ostersund’s website. “I want to enjoy it and enjoy football again and win everything we can. It’s exciting and I’m really looking forward to everything that’s in front of me. We have got a decent team, it’s a decent set up and I have met all the group today and it has been nice."

He added: “I’m just a young, humble person from Manchester. I’m hoping to come here and win everything we can and do the best I can. I have been at West Ham, Manchester United, Lazio. Obviously the English sides for me are the best. I was also in Mexico last season and loved every moment.

“Now I’m with you guys. This team beat my team as well, it wasn’t a great day when it happened being an Arsenal fan because I wasn’t linked with you then, but now it is all about thinking positive and looking forward to this new chapter."

More to the point, Ravel Morrison: Gooner? What's with that?

Exactly.

We've all heard of United fans in London. But a Manc being an Arsenal fan? Arsenal only have local fans in the UK.

To be fair, this explains a lot. If we look at Marcus Rashford, by most accounts less talented at youth level, but a United fan. We are an altogether more committed and hard working bunch than gooners

He will be broke and in prison or a gang before he’s 40.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We all know about his past mistakes but I put it to you that you know close to fck all about what's going on in his life right now, other than that he has tried playing football in another country.
---------------------------

He was criticised early on in his time at Lazio for lack of effort in training and unwillingness to learn Italian. He also tweeted something about waiting for January, hinting that he was waiting for a move. He then barely kicked a ball for 2 years, before joining QPR on loan for a short spell, who decided that he wasn't worth paying £2m for, despite his unquestionable talent. By all reports he has done well at Atlas last season, but when you look at the facts, he only actually started 4 games. The rest of his appearances were from the bench. He has only started 12 games of football in the last 4 years since he left for Italy. I really can't see how an argument can be made that he has improved his attitude based on the above. Looks to me like he is a very very slow learner.

Would still love to see him turn it around and at least have a few seasons playing top level football, but can't see it.

It’s my opinion predicated on anecdotal and statistical evidence relating to both Ravel and retired footballers. I put it to you that the maths support my belief that Ravel is more likely to be broke by 40 than any fantastical notions that this particular leopard will manage to change his spots.

He’s only trying to make it abroad because he would’ve ended up in prison if he didn’t get out of his social circle, which is precisely who he will gravitate back to when he call it a day on the pitch,

Incidentally, his quitter mentality would’ve made him a star player under Wenger. Victim of circumstance I suppose.

It's pretty obvious by now that he won't realise his talent or have much of a career to speak of. A bit of a stretch that he's destined for a spiral into crime and incarceration though.

But maybe insolvency.

Hate seeing talent wasted. The romantic in me would love a redemption story in which he's reunited with Pogba and Lingard in a couple of years for one last hoorah.

He's obviousaly taken terrible advice though. Lazio was a step down, but a great opportunity. Ever since he has been playing far below his level.

He showed at WHU and Birmingham that he's a PL player when he can be bothered. His behaviour at Lazio defines him and has probably ruined any chance of he has of playing at the highest level ever again.

Is it? His family are sc um. All his mates are into drugs. I know it was 10 years ago,but he was in a car that contained drugs and guns when it was stopped by police. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets drawn back into that world when he retires
