This is why football has lost its soul.

Poor from Nantes. Should have waited until the end of the season to even consider chasing money.

they are probally due the next £5m in the summer aswell
it seems a bit strange to be doing it so soon but i think it may be what they have to do legally to get the process started

Surely they don’t want the full wack? It’s poor timing agreed but they are within their rights still.
Reckon Warnock might call it a day if they get relegated.

I doubt this is what is actually happening. Probably just the media trying to sensationalise something as usual. No club would be that callous.

tbh this was probably one of the first things the board of both clubs was thinking about. If Nantes don't demand the first payment then it could make it harder for them to get Cardiff to pay. This will surely get messy

The ones in the wrong here are Cardiff. They have a contract and they know very well when payments are due. They have decided to take the opportunity to withhold payment and create this situation.
As far as Nantes are concerned they are owed the money and they will be getting chased by the club to which they owe a sell on fee

Nantes owe half of his fee to another club who might be pushing for it. At the end of the day it's a debt just like any other. What is especially saddening is this is being reported by the media. Who briefed them? This is something between two financial directors.

Complete mess and so sad. Has no doubt set a precedent given the circumstances. I guess if owed to a bigger club, like PSG, would just wait till reasonable resolution, but as said above chances are Nantes own sell ons and prob not a rich club.
Can't really blame either side in what is a difficult situation.
Guess time for the Ins co to step in, but we all know what they are like when it comes to paying out.

Bordeaux owed 50%. I think Cardiff were naughty to leak it to BBC Radio Wales. A debt is a debt. Cardiff say they want all the documentation which is ridiculous. At the time of the players untimely and sad death, he was a Cardiff player so documentation is irrelevant imo.
