Looking at the table, I never quite

realised Spurs were so close to the top of the table. I knew Spurs were in with a small squeak, but if they win their game in hand over City, which is a home game, will be just two points behind. Not to shabby, basically back in their own hands with City still to play, so a win at the Etihad, would give them an advantage. With Liverpool also to play, it is very much game on.

If ever there was a time for Spurs to throw off the Spursy tag, this could be the season, imagine going to both the Etihad and Anfield and winning both games, it would be like an Exocet missile hitting the Prem. The media wouldn`t know what hit them. Hopefully with a fully fit squad to pick from in a couple of weeks, can still be an epic end of the season for Spurs. It is not quite, but almost back in their own hands, with Liverpool showing signs of creaking under the pressure, and the wheels starting to come off a bit, then within a couple of weeks, could be back in Spurs own hands.

One game at a time though, and another what I would call a nuisance side, Leicester, will rock up at Wembley this weekend, never sure what you get from them, they are so hit and miss. But Spurs just need to put in a very solid defensive display, and then maybe nick a couple of goals going the other way. Don`t really want a repeat of last seasons game, where Spurs had to come from 3-1 down at half time.

Whatever way you look at it, the Prem is shaping up to go right to the wire this season, and hopefully Spurs will be well involved.

COYS.

If we had beaten Liverpool at home, we'd be 2nd right now, above Liverpool, 1pt behind and with a game in hand over City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It is very fine margins, also when Spurs played both Liverpool and City, they had key players missing in both games, and Dembele starting both tells you how weak Spurs were.

Against Liverpool, Dele, Son and Sanchez none of them started against a full strength Liverpool, and against City it was even worse, Verts, Winks, Eriksen, Dele and Son were all non starters. If you are playing the best teams, you need your best players on the pitch. Hopefully in the return matches, all the better players will be back and if so, they have a great chance of reversing the results from earlier in the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sanchez didn't start as you played Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Rose, in your back four which was Poch's choice. Poch chose not to start Sanchez and Son, who were both on the bench. You were missing one player - Lloris.

Although you should have had a penalty at the end to draw the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lloris, Sanchez, Son and Dele are all pretty well nailed on first team starters, so that was four key players missing. Admittedly our manager does make some howlers with team selection from time to time, but all the same, it was a very weakened Spurs side against a full strength Liverpool side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but you can't claim a weakened side if it was your manager who chose not to play them

Ours chose not to play Fabinho and Henderson, who I'd have starting every game that's possible. We don't claim a weakened team because of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Leaving Henderson out should have given you a massive advantage. And Fabinho is not a first pick he is very average. No better than say a Lamela for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both would be first choice in your side and of course are in ours. Lamela is more Origi level.

Fancy Spurs to finish closer to 4th than 2nd.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

With the same logic and feelings, fancy Liverpool to finish closer to 5th than top 4...Total calamity

Klopp to get sacked

Really?

So Henderson starts for Liverpool due to a lack of depth with Fabinho, Keita, Milner and Wijnaldum as options but wouldn't start at Spurs due to Winks, Dier, Sissoko, Wanyama and Skipp as options.

I'm not seeing it.

Yeah probably because they don't play in Henderson's position.

So yeah, I'm not seeing it.

Well neither do Keita or Wijnaldum, who are not classed as defensive midfielders, they are classed the same as Eriksen and Dele. And Milner started as a winger, is currently playing as a fullback, and is also not classed as a defensive midfielder. So I am not quite seeing what you are talking about.

Yes they do.

Henderson plays either in defensive midfield or central midfield, that's why I included your defensive midfielders and central midfielders.

So I'm still not seeing it.
